Greetings!
Welcome to SmallCorp News, our bi-monthly effort to stay in touch and share some of the valuable tips and information we've accumulated in nearly 40 years manufacturing museum-quality display cases and picture frames. If you find the newsletter useful, please feel free to pass it along to a colleague who might benefit from it, and if you have suggestions on improvements or future topics, don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you again for your association with SmallCorp, we couldn't do it without you. Best regards, Mike Dunphy

New England Museum Association
Annual Conference
SmallCorp will be exhibiting at the New England Museum Association's annual conference in Hartford, November 16 - 18, 2011. This year's conference will examine how we reflect the diversity of our communities, and the challenges museums face in developing effective ways to increase multicultural participation.

Among the off-site activities is a tour and critique of the Connecticut Historical Society's latest exhibit - Making Connecticut, which was designed by Roger Westerman Design and fabricated and installed by SmallCorp.
Stop by and visit Wendy and Mike at booth 38!

New Catalog
We've updated our catalog.

While the price of archival fluted polypropylene sheet has gone up a little, it remains more affordable than branded products like Coroplast. We have it made especially for us; it's acid-free, neutral pH polypropylene with no dyes or additives.
We just received a truckload and are fully stocked with 4mm, 6mm and 8mm material in full cartons or cut to size.
For a digital copy, go here. If you'd like a hard copy, let Sarah know. We can send out powedercoat chip charts to go along with the catalog download, too.

Focus on Framers
While we visit as many shows and galleries as we can, and we spend time looking at our friends and customers' websites and newsletters, we just don't get to see the final product of our labors often enough.
If you have a project you'd like to share with SmallCorp and your fellow framers, please contact me.
We'll post the photo and credit you in the portfolio section of our website. Here's a chance to show off your talent and creativity! |
Welded Aluminum Frames - Beautiful and Long-lasting
Our finished corner aluminum picture frames are well-known for manufacturing quality, clean look and long-lasting durability.

All our frames are hand-made to your specifications. We weld extruded aluminum profiles so they can be polished seamlessly and do not show any joint. Our customers say the result is just the right balance of precision and hand craftsmanship.
 |
Polished Face, Brushed Sides |
Museums and galleries love our frames because of their high quality and the fact that they can be easily re-used for years. |

Brandeis Does the Right Thing
After much controversy, Brandeis University has reversed its decision to close the Rose Art Museum and sell off its multi-million dollar collection to address a budget shortfall. The raucous response from the art community played an important role in the decision.

Policy Reminder
Thank you all for your help in reviewing and approving the order confirmations we send out when you place an order. As you know, we implemented this process over a year ago to reduce mistakes, and it has been very helpful to us and to our customers.
Just a reminder - when you place an order, we will issue an order confirmation for your review. Once you review and approve it, we'll add the order to our production queue (but not until we hear from you). Once you've approved the order, it becomes official, so please look closely at all the details (not just the ship date) and double-check that we got everything correct. Once you've approved the order and we've made it, you own it, so your review is critical.
Thanks for helping to make this so easy, we appreciate your support.
