Greetings!
Welcome to SmallCorp News, our bi-monthly effort to stay in touch and share some of the valuable tips and information we've accumulated in nearly 40 years manufacturing museum-quality display cases and picture frames. If you find the newsletter useful, please feel free to pass it along to a colleague who might benefit from it, and if you have suggestions on improvements or future topics, don't hesitate to let me know. Thank you again for your association with SmallCorp, we couldn't do it without you. Best regards, Mike Dunphy

SmallCorp at AIC's Annual Meeting
SmallCorp will be exhibiting at the American Institute of Conservation's annual meeting in Philadelphia, May 31 to June 3.
| | The Philadelphia Museum of Art |
The focus of the meeting is to examine how ethics, logic and perception guide conservation issues. Environmental sustainability, economic drivers, art as entertainment, the use of cultural heritage, and public access concerns are changing the practice of conservation. Do the core values still hold?
We expect to learn a lot and hope to see you there.
We'll also be showing off our latest motion-activated LED case lighting. Stop by and visit us at Booth 14-15.

We're sad to announce that after more than ten years Dimitra, one of our customer service experts, who many of you talk to on the telephone every day, will be leaving us. May 31st will be her last day. We'll miss her and we wish her the best of luck in her new endeavors.
Say good-bye to Dimitra |
|
As sorry as we'll be to see Dimitra go, we're equally excited to welcome Sarah Elmer to our team. Sarah has many years of manufacturing and customer service experience and we think she will be a great fit for SmallCorp.

LED Lighting Breakthroughs
We now offer LED spotlights with full dimming capability and a variety of lenses and filter options. LED spotlights can be built into new cases or added to existing cases with our "plug and play" light retrofit kit. Spotlight stalks can be mounted through your display deck or clamped to the edge, or they can be freestanding with a weighted steel base.
We also make our own dimmable LED light bars with adjustable color temperature. Lightbars can be customized to fit any case, including as retrofit kits for existing cases.
All of our LED kits can be powered by rechargeable batteries or by a traditional wall outlet. Additionally, we can incorporate motion sensors to bring the lights up as visitors approach and lower them again after a predetermined length of time.
LEDs use significantly less power than traditional lighting, without the heat and noise associated with other lighting systems, like fiber optics. The addition of motion sensors can lower power usage even further, as well as reducing the hours that objects on display are exposed to light.
