I
n 2005-2006, Roz rowed across the Atlantic Ocean.

In 2008 she began an adventure to be the first woman to row across the Pacific Ocean.  She rowed from San Francisco to Hawaii.  In 2009 she rowed from Hawaii to the island of Tarawa in Kiributi in the South Pacific.

On April 15, 2010,  she heads off again to complete her Pacific Journey.  She will row from Kiributi to Australia.

Roz's message of concern for the environment is truly inspiring!
Dear Water Friends,
An interesting thing happened after our last water meditation....some of you may know that shortly after our loving of San Carlos Lake, we in Arizona saw a week of water pouring from the sky.  The Arizona Republic reported San Carlos Lake is now 3 percent full, jumping from 9,840 acre feet to 73,500 acre feet.  One of the towns closest to the lake, Globe, Arizona, got the most rain in the state, at 13 inches.

Our February meditation will focus on water in Africa.  If you would like to join us on February 13th, we will be loving the Omo River in Ethiopia, and Lake Turkana in Kenya.  Ethiopia has a large scale dam initiative along the Omo River.  When the next dam is finished, it will be the largest dam in the world.  Kenyans downstream are concerned for their water source, Lake Turkana, which is fed by the Omo.

Water Explorers

There are some very interesting ocean adventure/studies taking place this year.  Here are just a few:

The Living Oceans Foundation departs on aLOF two year study of the world's coral reefs.  The project is called "Science without Borders".

The Algalita Marine Research Foundation
has been doing research in the North Pacific Gyre...unfortunately known as the Pacific Garbage Patch.  This year they set off into the Atlantic.
"To gain a better understanding of the impact of plastic pollution in the Atlantic Ocean, during 2010 the Algalita Marine Research Foundation will join Pangaea Explorations and Livable Legacy to travel across two other oceanic gyres: the Sargasso Sea in the northern hemisphere and the South Atlantic Gyre."   2010 Atlantic Gyre Project.

Scripps Institution of Oceanography wins grant to study ocean processes
Oceanographers Develop "Swarms" of Robotic Ocean Explorers.AEU
"While oceanographers have been skilled in detailing large-scale ocean processes, a need has emerged to zero in on functions unfolding at smaller scales. By defining localized currents, temperature, salinity, pressure and biological properties, AUEs will offer new and valuable information about a range of ocean phenomena."

Masaru Emoto comments on Haiti and water

"Please write "Love and gratitude to water in Haiti" and glue it on the bottle of water and send your thoughts of love and gratitude to the water inside the bottle.

I would like to ask you please do it every morning and evening if you can. As you may know already, "Love and Gratitude" are the words that create the most beautiful water crystals."

In saying thank you to everyone on this list...may I share a quote from Philippe Cousteau....for each of you embodies this wisdom...

"It's not that you can make a difference.  It's that everything you do makes a difference."

Sincerely,

Jane Reading
