After a wonderful day for the CCPF Bike Hike on Saturday October 9th - our Mission Team is packing to leave on Wednesday October 13 to Nanchang, China.
I want to thank everyone for their participation on Saturday and for their preparation for the mission.
This year's Bike Hike raised over $145,000 and will help us provide care to so many more children this year. We have over forty children waiting for our arrival in Nanchang at the Fourth Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University. And now we will be able to plan a Spring mission to Chengdu - thanks to your support.
Our team members will be blogging during this mission - so I invite you to check in often and see the impact your support is making.

Over $145,000 Raised for the Children Change a Life: 2010 Bike/Hike
On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, with the sun shining and the crisp fall air, almost 150 people participated in the CCPF Change a Life: 2010 Bike/Hike. The bikers rode for 14 miles through the Palisades Interstate Park and the hikers walked along the Hudson River for 3 miles. All returned to the Ross Dock Pavilion and enjoyed performances by the Columbia University Chinese Students Clubs performing the Chinese Lion Dance and juggling with Chinese Yo-Yo's. To see more photos - visit us on Facebook or the CCPF website.
Thanks to our participants and sponsors, the event raised over $145,000 - which will go directly to helping disabled children living in Chinese orphanages. The funds help pay for hospital costs for the children we treat, as well as some transportation and lodging for the team. All of our team members are donating their time, and many pay their own transportation costs. With our help, these forgotten children will receive surgical and medical care they deserve but could never afford.
Please thank our wonderful sponsors listed here.

Jim Irish is Running for CCPF
CCPF friend Jim Irish is running in this year's New York City Marathon on November 7th - just a few weeks away!
Jim has set a fundraising goal of $3,500 to pay for five life-changing surgeries and has kicked off the effort by donating $100. In 2009, Jim ran the San Diego Marathon to raise money for CCPF and successfully raised $3,500. Now he wants to help CCPF change the life of five more beautiful children living in China's orphanages. Won't you please join him? To make a contribution to Jim's marathon run for CCPF, click here. As he did in 2009, Jim is donating his training, travel and entrance fee expenses, so 100 percent of your gift will be used to pay for medical care. If you make a gift of $50 or more, you will be notified of Jim's race number so you can follow his progress on November 7th and be part of one of the greatest sporting events on the planet as more than 40,000 people from all over the world run 26.2 miles across the bridges and five boroughs of New York spurred on by millions of cheering New Yorkers and tourists.
