March 2009 - CCPF Meets CCTF
|
President Gena Palumbo (center) and Medical Director David P. Roye, Jr., MD, met with leaders of China Children and Teenager's Fund (CCTF) during their visit to Fuzhou and Beijing. CCTF has embarked on a scoliosis screening project throughout China's rural and underserved ares with funding from Johnson & Johnson China Medical. CCPF's orthopaedic surgeons will team up with CCTF to help provide surgeries for orphaned children suffering with advanced scoliosis. Dr. Roye examined several children who are candidates for this surgery. (pictured above - Dr. Roye with one of the orphans) CCTF has expansive relationships with orphanages throughout China and has offered to help identify children in need of surgery for future medical missions.
