Gamka -we've got it

" It is a very sad thing that  nowadays there is so little useless information."   -------

Greetings!
Bob Hibler's Photo

I don't know where to start this month, there are so many topics crying for comment, not the least of which was our questionnaire on Blogging. Doubtless, many of you are burning up with curiosity over the survey results to the question we posed, "Do you blog or not?" Within the Social Media quicksand  there apparently is a clear demarcation.  We have been told, very patiently by Media Socialites in the know, that if you are over thirty you don't get the blog scene. Well guess what? I am quite a bit over thirty and apparently so are many of those who read our stuff.  We had 37 replies and a lot of pithy comments, some without the lisp. The bloggers lost, 8 to 29. The NO-Blog majority often remarked that they had neither time nor interest although one did say that her 17 year old daughter got it. Anyway, to all those who took the time to answer, thanks, and don't look for the Gamka Blog any more, it is history. We will revisit in another year or so. Call us crazy, call us Neanderthals, call us old f----- ogies, we have jumped off the bandwagon, call us cured of this Social Disease at Gamka.

Here is another puzzlement. When did one million dollars get to be worth just $200,000? There are balloons floating around inside the Beltway about a tax on Millionaires, but meaning anyone earning more than $200,000. Huh? That is a real stretch for me.  To equalize an $800,000 difference is doublespeak and gobbledygook. I am a member of the Knights of Columbus and we believe in the redistribution of wealth,  but in our case it is called Charity. We ask for donations and give it to others in need. That is as far as I am willing to go. We must remember that THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS GOVERNMENT MONEY!

Finally, at least for today (I could go on for much longer), I have come to this conclusion: A government that can tell you what light bulb and toilet you must buy is too powerful.

Sincerely,

Bob Hibler Signature

Learn to Polish Concrete:         Training Seminar Coming to Gamka October 12th Edco 2DP Concrete Polishing Manchine in Action

You only get one chance to make a first impression. When entering a new building, a floor that shines sends good signals. Not every floor can do that, especially those that see lots of traffic. Floors in heavy use, whether by foot or fork lift, need to be durable. Ordinary concrete makes for a stout wear surface but is rarely confused with sparkling.  Rugs, tile, hardwood flooring, paint, patching materials, urethanes and epoxy have all been used with varying degrees of success to cover the concrete problems.

This is where concrete polishing fits in.  Lighting engineers say that the high shine and reflectivity of a polished concrete floor can brighten a room by as much as 35% (considerably more than an epoxy floor). There is no coating that can fail and the floor still breathes. The densifier solution that is added during the polishing process chemically makes the concrete surface much stronger and more resistant to wear. It also locks in optional colored dyes that can be used to improve the appearance of the floor.

Concrete polishing, refurbishing and reconditioning requires equipment manufactured for that purpose and a full range of the expendable accessories needed to transform a basic concrete surface to a polished gem-like finish. Only those who have been trained in how to do the work and certified are qualified to do so. The Equipment Development Company, AKA Edco, has developed the entire line and offers the training to bring it all together. The package is marketed as CONTRx Systems.

CONTRx polishing machines have also bridged the gap between the small residential and large commercial polished floors. The strip mall is a perfect example. You will often see medical offices within a strip mall type setting. These offices will have many rooms and narrow hallways dividing the floors into small areas where large industrial polishers won't work. The CONTRx Dual-Disc ProPolisher ll works very efficiently in this setting.

So what is the perfect job application for a CONTRx Polisher? Any residential or small commercial concrete floor; new or old, smooth or worn, currently covered or exposed. The market is huge and virtually untapped. There are numerous high profit job opportunities to be accessed by front running, entrepreneurial contractors. Polished concrete is the start of a whole new trend in floors for the owners of smaller structures. It seems evident that many contractors are expanding their horizons in search of revenue. This training seminar will open that door for a certified CONTRx System contractor to generate new profits.

Gamka Sales Co., Inc, in Edison, NJ, distributes the CONTRx System by Edco. They carry the polishing machines, edgers and vacuums with the expendable accessories. On October 12, 2011 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Edco and Gamka will offer a hands-on polishing CONTRx System training seminar for contractors wishing to expand their operation's scope. Attendees will learn the ins and outs of diamond polishing concrete floors with live demonstrations and hands-on surface preparation. Those who register will be CONTRx System certified upon completion of the course. The fee for this specialized training is $200 and class size is limited to just 20 people to allow individual instruction. Lunch is included.

More details, and a  downloadable flier and application is posted at Concrete Polishing Training Brochure Link or call toll free 888-248-1400. Completed applications and the $200 application fee must be received at Gamka (by check or credit card) no later than October 5, 2011.
