MONTHLY HRCC HOMEWORK GRADING PARTY!
Folks who live near us and want to learn more about hoodoo by meeting other practitioners are invited to drop by as we grade this month's Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course Homework submitted by students. All are welcome, whether students or not! We meet at 5:00 PM at the shop, and PIZZA IS FREE. Come late, leave early, whatever suits you -- it's a work and play party, and a good way to see how hoodoo is practiced.

Yes, it is time once again for all of you inspired Hoodoo Cooks to share your magical culinary secrets with the Sisters of the Conjure Kitchen. Last year's booklet
"Hoodoo Food! The Best of the 2010 Conjure Cook-Off and Recipe Round-Up" was such a success that we are doing it again for 2011, as a special fund-raising project sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary of Missionary Independent Spiritual Church.

In addition, Robin Petersen will give her annual workshop on Spiritual Cookery on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Hoodoo Workshop party, local recipe contributors will bring their sorcerous dishes in for sharing and taste-testing, and prizes will be awarded to the top three magical cooks.

The Lucky Mojo Apprenticeship Program is a FREE three-week series of lectures, personal training, and hands-on guidance in the history, preparation, and use of conjure supplies. It is offered in separate one-week segments. The first Apprenticeship week for 2011 features WEEK THREE of the program and leads up to our annual HOODOO WORKSHOPS AND POTLUCK PARTY on May 7-8.
May 2 - May 6, 2011 - Week Three Apprenticeship:
Monday: Bath Crystals and Soaps Lecture; Making Bath Crystals
Tuesday: Making, Labelling, and Praying Over Bath Crystals
Wednesday: Sachet Powders Lecture; Making Sachet Powders
Thursday: Making and Praying Over Sachet Powders
Friday: Jack Balls Lecture; Making a Jack Ball
To join in the Apprenticeship Program you must be a Graduate in good standing of my Hoodoo Rootwork Correspondence Course . Non-graduates are eligible for Apprenticeship training if they bring all of their Homework with them when they come. The three week-long programs need not be taken in order, although for continuity's sake, it is preferred. Apprentices are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement, to provide their own room and board, and to attend all 40 hours of studying, learning, and making spiritual supplies. Two party meals are supplied during the week, a Potluck Lunch catered by the Lucky Mojo Staff and an Apprentices Dinner catered by Robin Petersen. Upon finishing all three weeks of Apprenticeship, a certificate is issued at no cost, signifying that the training was completed.

This is the yearly event you do NOT want to miss! Two full days of hoodoo fun, friendship, and learning, complete with potluck meals and plenty of time to meet your fellow conjure workers. Sponsored by Missionary Independent Spiritual Church, and featuring teachers from around the country, the May Hoodoo Workshops are a casual, relaxing, and sociable way to gain hands-on practice in the spiritual arts.
We're out of space to tell you everything we are planning for the 2011 get-together, so, for now, just mark your calendar for Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8, and make your travel plans. We'll have more announcements about the workshops -- and who will be teaching what and when -- in next month's Newsletter!
