Eduardo's Corner

We started 2011 with our Manager's Meeting in Miami to review the top priorities for the year including increasing local sales, driving rates, and targeting communications.  We enjoyed a visit to the Telemundo Network Studios in Miami, but most of our time was dedicated to discussing best practices and developing new strategies to expand business development.  As an added incentive to increase local sales we announced a first quarter sales competition.  Congratulations to the winner WRIW Providence for delivering the highest increase in local sales from first quarter of 2010 to first quarter of 2011.  Each member of the winning sales team will receive the new iPad 2.  It is important that we keep the pressure-on going into second quarter.  We need to continue to provide results and meet our targets.

As you all know, Telemundo has experienced unprecedented success with La Reina del Sur.  Let's make sure we are taking advantage of this momentum to continue to drive rates and increase our exposure in the marketplace. We need to consistently highlight and promote our successes.  Make sure you are maximizing opportunities to showcase your properties, content, activities and events.

Spring is finally here and we are entering the beginning of our busy event season with Da del Nio in Philadelphia, Fiesta Mexicana in Tampa, Fiesta de las Madres in Washington, DC and Orlando, and the first La Feria de la Familia of the year in Fort Myers-Naples.  Our signature brands are the marquee events in our markets and we are looking forward to serving our communities, viewers, clients and partners with interactive and meaningful experiences.  These events reinforce our mission to be relevant and community focused every day.  Thank you for all of your dedication. Un gran abrazo y saludos a todos.
