Eduardo's Corner
I would like to take this opportunity to again thank everyone for their hospitality. At the beginning of the year, representatives from the ZGS Corporate Office visited all the stations to emphasize priorities, hear directly from you, and see firsthand all of the fantastic things you do. The A New Focus in a New Decade Tour was a great way to commence 2010 and to reiterate that we represent multiple products and platforms including television, web, radio and signature events.
We need to continue to think outside the box and maximize our exposure and reach. This is especially important as our industry continues to change. We need to stay informed and engaged as it relates to initiatives that could potentially affect our future as broadcasters. The National Broadband Plan is an example of that. I encourage all of you to review the elements of the plan.
Also in the news, are the preparations for the World Cup in South Africa. We are pleased to announce that holaciudad! will feature extensive reports of the teams, and their preparation beginning May 11 with full news coverage of the games starting June 11. Victor Rodriguez, the veteran sports commentator and host of Momento Deportivo on WAMA ESPN Deportes 1550AM is the special correspondent in South Africa and will provide daily updates with a special emphasis on the Latin American teams. Additionally, VIVA 900AM is the official radio station for the World Cup in the Washington DC metro area and will be airing all of the games live as the Fútbol de Primera affiliate. We are also working closely with the Fútbol de Primera affiliates in our other markets.
We are looking forward to the upcoming summer event season and appreciate all that you do to highlight your properties and share your success. This is an exciting time of the year for our station group.
Un gran abrazo y saludos a todos. |
