This autumn is proving to be a very busy time for YPL and our clients! YPL has had the privilege to be involved in several spectacular events in the past month as noted below.

What makes the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago (MCA) unique? It is "a world-class facility

where visitors can view contemporary, iconic and cutting-edge visual art and an internationally-renowned venue for the performing arts. We annually present a full season of performances on the MCA Stage, including music, dance, theater and film, states Surinder Martignetti, manager of performance programs. Some of the important contemporary artists include Andy Warhol, Jeff Koons, Buckminster Fuller, Lee Bontecou and Dan Flavin. Great news for YPL customers! MCA is donating two (2) certificates each for a pair of tickets, good for the next few (upcoming) performances. Tickets will be given on a first come, first served basis. Contact Tracy at YPL now!

This unique venue has various indoor and outdoor sites available for special events. MCA has hosted conferences, film screenings, weddings, corporate receptions, trade shows and fund-raising galas.

30's, came together for an incredible event. Renowned Chicago Studio Photographer, Steve Starr, signed his new book, Starrlight - Glamorous Latin Movie Stars of Early Hollywood. YPL was pleased to be part of this event by providing a beautiful, white limousine. What inspired Steve to produce a book of this nature? He states, "I have always been fascinated by movies, stars, art, history and the Art Deco and Moderne period, and loved the Latin cultures. The book brings all of these elements together...
I find it fascinating that some of these people, born in a small town in another country, made it to Hollywood...
gained fame, riches and woldwide recognition. A Latina woman who did this more than half a century ago was really an achievement!"

The 184-page-book features color photos of Maria Montez, Rita Hayworth, Lupe Velez, Carmen Miranda and Dolores Del Rio and chronicles their lives. It features over 100 images and is bound in silver linen.
Steve's first book was entitled Picture Perfect - Art Deco Photo Frames 1926-1946 (published 1991). "It is a collection of 1,000 beautiful, original glass Art Deco frames that cover my studio walls... (I)filled them with original old images of Hollywood stars of the early 20th century. This book presents over 225."

Schedule 'Work, Children & Lunch' in Your Calendars?
I recently attended a workshop and noticed a colleague sitting next to me had 'Work' scheduled in her Outlook calendar! I couldn't help but ask the reason for scheduling work, as, "...don't you work 50+ hours a week already?" 
This became a subject that we, as a group, began discussing. I was amazed that others had such tasks as 'Children' and 'Lunch' also scheduled!
Kirsten Zoub, director of sales for the Wright Leadership, stated, "Blocking out times for my children, whether it is as little as 15 minutes or longer, provides more concrete time rather than constantly being interrupted by phone calls, texts and emails. The time scheduled for my children has become more 'quality' time spent with them."
