New Words, Same Great Mission
Recently I noticed a box of cereal that said, "New package,
same great taste!" The manufacturer
updated the product packaging to a more contemporary look but wanted us to know
it still contained the same great cereal inside. The same might be said of FAME. Recently, our Board of Directors approved new
mission and vision statements. We are
still the same great mission, still spreading the fame of Christ through
medical evangelism; we just decided it was time to "freshen up" our purpose and
vision statements in more contemporary language. Here are the new statements; we hope you like
them:
MISSION: FAME is passionate in taking help and
hope in the name of Christ to the unreached and underserved in the world
through medical evangelism.
VISION: A
GLOBAL LEADER IN EVANGELISM THROUGH HEALTHCARE
· Taking Christ to the unreached and underserved
· Integrating spiritual and physical healing
· Providing medical supplies and facilities for
the developing world
· Assisting nationals to become healthcare
providers and educators
· Promoting health and wellness through community
development
One
of the highlights for 2010 will be the year-long celebration of FAME's 40th
Anniversary.
This will be an exciting time to celebrate what God has done in and through the
people of FAME and to look ahead to what's next. It will also be an ideal
opportunity to educate and connect more people into what God is doing through FAME.

FAME and CMF take Your Church and AIDS to Turner, Oregon in May!
FAME and CMF International invite
you to a strategic day focused on the compassionate response of the Church to
the global AIDS emergency.
Forty million is a large figure
to wrap your mind around, but that's how many people throughout the world are
HIV positive. Of the 8,000 people who die each day as a result of the AIDS
epidemic, more than 1,300 of them are children. The UN estimates that by the
year 2010, 25 million children will be orphans because of AIDS. The numbers are
overwhelming, but each number represents a person whom God loves. The good news
is that Jesus Christ's Church is doing more than ever before to minister to those
whose lives are affected by HIV/AIDS. FAME and CMF have created a one-day
conference simply called Your Church and AIDS, which focused on the Church's
compassionate response to the global AIDS emergency. Attendees have been
equipped with practical ways that they and their churches can minister to those
lives touched by AIDS at home and around the world.
Check out these few photos from the Your Church and AIDS workshop in 2009.
