| DO YOU KNOW WHAT A MOM & POP GROUP IS? |
Greetings!
Most of you have heard of the larger animal related organizations such as the Humane Society, SPCA or PETA. These are the organizations that receive the majority of donations from the public because these are the ones you hear about the most. They are the types of groups who are corporate, the ones that have the paid staff, the people who can just work on soliciting for donations from companies and the public. These are the cool groups, the groups that people hear about the most and want to attach their name to. Yet, whether you realize it or not, there are thousands of small groups, made up of a few volunteers who devote their lives to rescue because it is their passion. They are the ones who are out doing the majority of hands on rescuing of dogs and cats from the streets and shelters. They are the ones who don't have much of a donor base. They are challenged every single day to reinvent a new and different way of bringing in donations to be able to continue their rescue efforts and keep their group afloat. These are the groups we call the "mom and pop" rescue groups, they are not corporate or "successful" in a big way but they have the same goals as the groups you are all familiar with, it is about saving lives, education and promoting and doing the spaying and neutering of animals. These groups are "successful" but in a different way, each life they save, that is their success story. They may not have thousands upon thousands of dollars to run their organization but they make the best with what they have. There are more mom and pop groups out there than any other kind. They all do the same thing, rescue animals. These groups are not the "hip" and "cool" groups so they do not receive a lot of public support as the larger nationwide groups. But they are still out there doing the best they can to make a difference one life at a time.
Precious Paws is a "mom and pop" group. We are a small and passionate group of volunteers, who do our best to make a difference. We are not "hip", we are not "cool" but we are dedicated. Each and every day we are devoted to saving lives and making a difference. We run on a shoestring budget, we struggle like most groups. Precious Paws cannot measure our success by our bottom line because it is meager but we measure our success on the lives we have saved, the people we have helped and the number of animals we have found forever homes for. That is what we rate our success on, not our bank account or our popularity. With that being said, to us, we are a very successful organization.
In order for Precious Paws to be able to continue to care for the rescues we have in our care and be able to help more homeless animals, we desperately need your help. Please, even if it is a dollar, help us to care for our rescues. We have had a rough couple of years, yet, we have never been the financial bind we are in as of today. Public support is low, very very low and it is due to the hardships of the time, not for a lack of our efforts and devotion to the cause.
If you can, please consider donating to us today and help us care for our rescues. Below is a link to our Paypal account or you can always do it the" old fashioned" way and send a donation to us through the mail, our address is listed here in our letter.
