Saturday, September 18th is the date for the annual Children's Home Fall Festival.  It's a fun-filled day that begins with the ribbon-cutting and dedication for our new Counseling Center at 10 AM.  We invite you all to come and tour this wonderful new facility that is going to open many doors for putting families back together.

At 10:45, the Festival kicks off with The Big Parade.  The boys and girls will be marching, riding, and cheering, and you are needed to help cheer for them.  A delicious BBQ lunch will be served starting at 11:15, and live entertainment, a silent auction, a bake sale, carriage rides, and bounce houses for the kids will round out the day.

Please join us for one of the most fun-filled family days in the area, and benefit the children of the Home with your presence.  Read more...

Progress on the Cottage Fire Renovation

Living Room Renovation with House Mom, Darlene

Putting Murray Cottage back together after the fire of March 25th has been a long and involved process.  And it's not over yet!  As you can see , we've come a long way from the burned out kitchen, but the new kitchen is not yet functional.

Teen girls are back in the cottage; the living room has been re-done; new carpet has been laid.  But meals are still being prepared in the laundry room.  Not an ideal situation, to say the least!

Our friends have been most generous in responding to this need.  As you know, we needed $38,734 to complete the renovation of the cottage after the insurance settlement.  To date, $37,166 has been sent to the Home, and we are so very grateful.  Thank you for every single dollar you have sent!

Our next project (after installing appliances and flooring and moving the kitchen from the laundry room to the actual kitchen) is to secure funding for additional fire hydrants for the campus.  This is an expensive undertaking but it must be done to ensure the safety of our boys and girls.

As you work on your year-end financial plans, please keep this worthwhile project in mind.  There's no better place to invest your hard-earned dollars than in children!  Read more...

Thanks again for all you do for the boys and girls at The Children's Home.

Sincerely,
The Children's Home of Lubbock
