Your Back-to-School Gifts at Work
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We're just like any parents; we love to hear good things about
our kids! We wanted to share with you a portion of this note we recently
received from Karen Bayer, Principal at Roosevelt Elementary School.
(And, by the way, as Roosevelt parents, we're proud to report that our school
received a perfect audit score from the Texas Education Agency!)
"Emma came to us with the
recommendation that she be placed in a resource class for students with severe
learning disabilities. While the initial testing that we received told us
Emma would have trouble learning, she showed us something quite different.
Emma is one of the top students in her second grade classroom and is
showing many leadership qualities as well. While she initially struggled
with behavior, those days are far behind this amazing child. She is a
student who can be counted on by her teachers and peers to behave appropriately
and politely. When Emma is given a task, you can be assured she will give
her 100% best effort. She is a joy to teach! Together, we are moving our kids forward, aren't we?"
Ms. Bayer was addressing our staff, but we know that YOU are
part of our team, and we hope you will rejoice with us in Emma's progress at
school.
Fall Festival Brings Many Friends to Campus
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our annual Fall Festival is one of our favorite friend-raising events. This year's festival was one of the most successful, as about 1,000 friends visited the campus, enjoying a barbeque meal, live entertainment, a fabulous parade complete with floats, drum-line, fire engines, rides, inflatable games, horses, the Caprock Corvette Club, a silent auction and many other fun-filled activities. Visit our website to read more about the Fall Festival and see a list of our sponsors.
