The Ghost of Christmas Present 
Charles Dickens' classic tale brings three "ghosts" to Ebenezer Scrooge, one of whom is the "Ghost of Christmas Present." This 'spirit' shows children to the old miser, and explains that they are all 'his' children...the world's children...who are doomed without his changing his ways and providing loving care and support to those less fortunate. In Dickens' world, most children worked in the mills and factories and only 20% ever attended schools to better themselves and their families. Just as he is approaching his last moments, the ghost shows Scrooge
that want and ignorance are two products of society that will destroy
it if not combated against by those who can prevent both social ills. While some would say that we live in a less calloused world today, there are still those, smallest among us, who need all of us to take them in as "our" children and do what we can to make certain they have a bright future. You can be that one spark to make a difference in the life of a child. Help us provide a Christmas "present" that will last a lifetime. Your support is vitally important. Thank you for caring.
