Greetings!

Have you ever wanted a do-over? After watching Christina Aguilera's rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner at the Super Bowl, I was thinking she probably wanted to call a do-over (and wouldn't that have been something?!  Imagine if she stopped the music after she messed up and said, "You know what, I messed up and this is too important to not try again.")  Oh well, hindsight's 20/20, I suppose.

Infamous Should-be Do-overs!

Christina's flub got me thinking of other sports-related oops where the people surely wanted do-overs.  I thought they might be fun to revisit!  If you remember one that's not on this list, be sure to share it by clicking here!

In no particular order, here is the Grace Engineered Products' list of Should-be Do-overs!

  • The Steve Bartman Incident:  Poor Stevie Bartman.  This life-long Cubs fan was sitting quietly in his seat at Wrigley Field at Game 6 of the 2003 World Series when he reached for what he thought to be a foul ball, but was actually still in-play.  He disrupted a potential catch by Cubs outfielder Moises Alou, and that seemed to be enough to mess with the Cubbies' mojo.  Before Steve Bartman, they were five outs from winning the title and going to the World Series.  After Steve Bartman, they gave up the lead and lost that game.  They were eliminated the next night.  Everyone blamed Bartman, but c'mon, we all know it was the darn billy goat!  #DO-OVER!
  • Janet's You-Know-What:  I never saw it personally, but I'm thinking she and the rest of the broadcasting world would love a chance to make sure that her wardrobe didn't malfunction.   #PEEK-A-BOO!
  • The Heidi Game:  Okay, this was before my time, but I'm thinking NBC wishes they had a do-over. This game played November 17, 1968 between the Jets and the Raiders.  I guess back in the day, they had programming switches on timers or something.  This game lasted longer than it was supposed to and with the Jets leading 32-29 with only 65 seconds left in the game, something happened and the movie Heidi started to play leaving many in the US to miss the come back by the Raiders.  They ended up winning 43-32 in an amazing come back!  #DOH!
  • Brett Farve's First Retirement:  Oh wait.  He got his do-over.  Again and again and again.  #DO-OVER THE DO-OVERS!

I know there's probably more out there that you sports fans can relate, so be sure to submit them when you enter for your freebie!
