| Greetings!
Stephanie snapped this photo of our office dog, Kona, with her cell phone. Look at him! He's all snuggled in a chair in the lobby, which is strange because he has a whole cubicle to himself with a bed, toys, food and water! In the mornings, he comes prancing down the hallway to go see Jennifer, his favorite. If she's not there, then after a second or two of obvious disappointment, he reluctantly comes to visit the rest of us. Now, that's a real ego booster...
So, for your funny this week, how about a cute dog story! Here you go: A local business was looking for office help. They put a sign in the window that read: "HELP WANTED. Must be able to type, must be good with a computer and must be bilingual. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer." A short time afterward, a dog trotted up to the window, saw the sign and went inside. He looked at the receptionist and wagged his tail, then walked over to the sign, looked at it and whined. Getting the idea, the receptionist got the office manager. The office manager looked at the dog and was surprised, to say the least. However, the dog looked determined, so he lead him into the office. Inside, the dog jumped up on the chair and stared at the manager. The manager said, "I can't hire you. The sign says you have to be able to type." The dog jumped down, went to the typewriter and proceeded to type out a perfect letter. He took out the page and trotted over to the manager and gave it to him, then jumped back on the chair. The manager was stunned, but then told the dog, "The sign says you have to be good with a computer." The dog jumped down again and went to the computer. The dog proceeded to demonstrate his expertise with various programs and produced a sample spreadsheet and database and presented them to the manager. By this time the manager was totally dumb-founded! He looked at the dog and said, "I realize that you are a very intelligent dog and have some interesting abilities. However, I still can't give you the job." The dog jumped down and went to a copy of the sign and put his paw on the sentences that told about being an Equal Opportunity Employer. The manager said, "Yes, but the sign *also* says that you have to be bilingual." The dog looked at him straight in the face and said, "Meow." Keep reading,

Power Warning Alerts
|
Our power warning alerts have expanded in recent months, and it occurred to me we have not gone through the differences in each one in quite a while. So, here it goes!

All our power warning alerts are marketed under the Grace Engineered Products' line called VoltageVision. As its name suggest, VoltageVision products provides a way for you to "see" voltage outside the panel, which as you know, enhances compliance to NFPA 70E. What you may not know is it also increases employee productivity.

R-3W: This is our first - and most widely used - model. It monitors phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground, and has long-life flashing LEDs, which indicate the presence of voltage. It monitors 40-750VAC / 30-1000VDC, is phase insensitive with high surge immunity and is mounted in a 30mm push-button hole. It has potted construction with 6-foot leads, and is UL Type 4X listed. List price is $109 per unit.
R-3W-SR: In response to many requests from our customers, we introduced this model last year. It is nearly identical to the R-3W, but has one striking difference: non-flashing LEDs! For additional information on both the R-3W and the R-3W-SR, please click here for the data sheet. List Price is $129 per unit.
R-3W2: Another model we introduced last year was the multi-environment power warning alert. This model has flashing LEDs and monitors 40-750VAC / 30-1000VDC like the previous two models, but the R-3W2 is UL Type 4X, 12, and 13, and is rated for UL Hazardous Location Class 1 Division 2 Group A, B, C, and D. Aesthetically, the face of this model is blue instead of black, but it still fits in the same 30mm push-button hole. Click here to download the data sheet for this multi-environment power warning alert. List price is $149 per unit.
R-1VH003 / R-1VL003: We call this our Medium Voltage Indicator and it is slightly different in that it is not mounted on an enclosure door. The Med ium Voltage Indicator is designed to be viewed through an I/R window. It has an operating range of 2KV-43KV and is sold in quantities of 3 (one per ph ase). Built out of flame-rated material, it provides high surge immunity and has electrical-installation integrity because it capacitively couples to the ground. Its flash rate and intensity is determined by the amount of energy transferred to the Medium Voltage Indicator through capacitive coupling. To learn more about this product, please click here to download the data sheet. List Price is $270 for a set of 3. For additional information or questions on any of these products, please feel free to contact Inside Sales at 800.280.9517.

Care Packages to the Troops Week!

|
It's a new year, but we are going to keep the momentum going and still send care packages too our troops overseas! I always send a letter with the package and a print out of the thank-you comments I've collected. If you haven't had a chance to submit a thank-you comment, feel free to do so here.
Additionally, if you have a loved one serving overseas and would like to add them to our list of care package recipients, please click here to submit their mailing information. It is our policy to take the money we would normally spend buying your giveaway and use it to send these care packages. This equates to about 2-4 boxes filled with much-needed things like baby wipes, food, games, and toiletries! We love supporting our military - both American and Canadian! So, submit those names!
