The 2011 Millard Fuller Legacy Build is fast approaching! Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, preparation efforts are well underway - we already have slabs poured for the eight new homes we'll be building that week, and six of the eight walls delivered.  But we're still actively seeking more donations from individuals and corporations to make this event a success. Read a story about our sponsors, and then learn more about how you can contribute!

And as always, we still need volunteers to help us build and renovate homes for our selected families. Find out more about the families you'll directly help as a volunteer and then click here to register for the blitz build!

**REGISTRATION ENDS SEPTEMBER 16**

Building in the Congo

Almost 40 years ago, Millard and Linda Fuller arrived in Mbandaka in the Democratic Republic of Congo (then called Zaire) to begin what was to become history's greatest effort to eliminate poverty housing.Their projects were funded in part by a grant from the United Church of Christ (UCC). This month, members of The Fuller Center staff and a delegation from the UCC will retrace the Fullers' footsteps and explore their shared roots in the affordable housing ministry. The group will be working to build

Leave a legacy through planned giving

Ryan Offering Money
The Fuller Center's Planned Giving program is an easy way to leave a legacy. Gifts can be given to The Fuller Center in the form of money, property, an investment or a percentage of an estate. FCH can also become a beneficiary in a will or insurance policy. Find out more about planned giving here.

"Ultimately, everyone wants to make a difference in the world," said Jackie Goodman, a longtime Fuller Center volunteer, current board member and participant in the program. "We certainly can't take with us, so we've got to make plans for when we're gone."

Also read a humorous take on the subject in our recent blog post, "Jackie Goodman: 100 percent of us are going to die."

Fuller Center General
Our communications department aims to keep our supporters informed and to spread public awareness. One way we're doing that is through the Fuller Center General blog, which is usually updated four or five times a week with notes about interesting personalities, news about programs and other tidbits.

Director of communications Chris Johnson is a multi-award-winning journalist, author of two books and still writes a popular humor column for the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. His often funny slant on goings-on is evident on the blog. Also occasionally adding her take on things is communications/ multimedia specialist Leah Gernetzke, whom Chris describes as "far hipper and way smarter."

Keep looking for regular news updates on our home page, but turn to the Fuller Center General blog when you want a fresh, fun perspective on our work.
