Do You 'Heart' Women's Rights?
If you 'heart' women's rights, here's 5 things you can do today (or this week!) to show your LOVE: 1. Join RI NOW! Support our efforts to protect a woman's right to choose, end violence against women, promote economic equity, and overall, to improve the status of women and girls in our state. To find out how you can get more involved, contact RI NOW President Carolyn Mark.
2. Call a bunch of friends and make a plan to go to the Women's Health and Education Bowl-a-thon Kick-off Party on Tuesday, February 15. Teams are forming for the April 3 Bowl-a-thon.
3. Tell your local senator and representative that you support marriage equality and they should to. To find your legislators, click here.
4. Stop Anti-Choice Efforts to Eliminate Family Planning Funding. Visit the Planned Parenthood Action Centerand tell your elected officials to vote NO on any attempt to end Title X funding. 5. Visit RI NOW's website to learn what's on our legislative agenda for 2011. Stay up on the issues, and make a commitment to yourself to contact your legislators when key bills are being heard. Or, join RI NOW up at the State House to lobby and/or testify on bills affecting women and girls. For more information on how to get involved, contact RI NOW's legislative chair Serene Khader.
Happy Valentine's Day, or, if you prefer, Happy Anna Howard Shaw Day!!!
