Ayurveda Lecture by Dr. Vaidya Priyanka

Dr. Vaidya Priyanka "Vaidyaji" will present an 18-point holistic health lecture that will embrace the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda in everyday life, followed by a guided mediation and a question and answer session.  Dr. Priyanka teaches the principles of Ayurveda and explains how to integrate the various applications of this ancient science alongside nutritional supplements of the West. Registration is required for this free event.

Bike Traffic Skills 101

Saturday, February 11

1-5 p.m., Main Library 

Join East Bay Bike Coalition for a half day of bike riding! During this on-the-bike practice session, you will work in small groups with certified instructors to improve your handling skills, emergency maneuvers, and ability to confidently and safely share the road with other traffic. Bring a bike, helmet and bike lock.  Please note that bikes are not allowed in the library.  Drinks and snacks provided.  Free bike lights (front and back) will be provided to everyone that completes the course!  For adults and teens 14+.  Register online at www.ebbc.org/safety.

The California Highway Patrol's Start Smart program is a driver safety education class that targets new and future licensed teenage drivers aged 15-19 and their parents/guardians. A CHP officer will discuss traffic collision avoidance techniques, collision-causing factors, driver/parent responsibilities, and seatbelt usage.

Christina Angelos, a Senior Intern at Life West Chiropractic College will give an informative and interactive workshop on building immunities the natural way.

Recycle & Support the Literacy Plus Program 

The Literacy Plus program has recently partnered with Planet Green, a printer cartridge and cell phone remanufacturing and recycling company, to start an exciting new fundraiser that recycles mobile phones and used printer cartridges - and we want you to be part of it!

 

Taking part is easy - simply drop off your used inkjet cartridges and old cell phones with us - you can include cell phone batteries and even cell phone chargers. The drop-off location is the Hayward Public Library.

 

Your participation in this recycling campaign will raise greatly needed funds for the Literacy Plus program.Let's work together, one cartridge and cell phone at a time, to clean up the planet and raise money.

She needed something to break the monotony of her life.  Powell recounts how she conquered every recipe in Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking and saved her soul.
