It's time to celebrate Seabury!

As Seabury's annual auction approaches, I look forward to celebrating Seabury's twentieth year with you on March 6 at the Landmark Convention Center.  Do you have your reservations yet?!  Contact Janice in the Business Office, Halley or Joslyn right away to reserve your spot, and be sure to bring friends and family.  It is one of the most important nights of the year for Seabury, and this year's auction is going to be an especially fun evening.

Our community needs Seabury.  Our children are unique.  They learn differently than typical children their age, and programs for children who are more typically developing often don't meet their needs.  At Seabury, gifted children find a home where they are understood.  Where their love of learning is nurtured.  Where their curiosity and energy and enthusiasm are celebrated.  Where they find others who think like they do and who join them in their love of wondering and questioning.  Seabury is a place where gifted children thrive because Seabury understands gifted children in all their complexities and nuances.

This year's auction will be a time to celebrate what Seabury has done for our children over the past twenty years, and to launch us into our next twenty years.  We will raise funds that will allow us to continue to provide our children with a program that "cherishes each individual and fosters a love of learning, discovery and creativity."

Thank you to all of you who have helped already by procuring items, through data entry, through event planning, making phone calls, creating class projects and more.  Now let's make this event a great success by filling the Landmark Convention Center with Seabury Supporters!  I can't wait to see all of you on the 6th of March.  It's going to be a great evening!!!

 Auction, Auction, Auction!

Start pulling out your fancy duds, and your platinum bling.  Seabury's greatest party of the year is coming up on March 6th!  This is an important fundraiser and celebration for the school, raising much needed funds to support programming at Seabury.  You have all procured or donated many wonderful items.  See them at seabury.maestroweb.com.  We hope you will attend!
Here are a few auction reminders:
The deadline for procurement is today.  If you still have items you are bringing in, please drop them off tomorrow (Saturday, Feb 20th) at the Auction Work Party at the lower school or email katherineo@seabury.org a description and turn your item and form in on Monday.
The first of two auction work parties is tomorrow from 9am-4pm at the Lower School.  Childcare is available (thank you PBC!).
Please turn in reservation cards by next Friday, Feb 26th.  The caterer needs a count on that day.
Please buy wish tickets (available from Joslyn or Halley).  We will hold a wish ticket drawing at the beginning of the auction.  The winner gets his or her choice of live auction item!  Only 50 tickets will be sold.  Those are good odds!
As always if you have any questions contact the auction chairs, Margaret JacobsenDawn Vitale or contact Katherine Overton, Advancement Director.

Looking for a Few Good Students (or maybe we should say a "few more" good students!)

That's right! Even though we have a rolling application period at Seabury (which means that students are accepted into Seabury all year long), about this time of year we start to hear back from parents that were not quite satisfied with their child's education at other schools and are looking to enroll their child in the fall.  Some parents are hesitant to make a change during the school year and others worry about the cost.  But all parents that approach Seabury School recognize that their child may just need a little more or a different way to learn to be successful in the future.  If you know of a family whose child would benefit by attending Seabury, please send them our way.  Both campuses are hosting tours in February and March:

Lower School campus    Wednesdays     9:00am-11:00am
Middle School campus   Thursdays   9:00am-11:00am

The Early Learning Center and the Kindergarten teachers will be hosting an "Early Learning Program" Open House on Wednesday, March 16th, from 6:00-7:30pm.

Please contact Joslyn Kearns, Lower School campus, or Halley Griffin, Middle School campus, to set up a tour or for more information.  Also, be sure to visit www.seabury.org for information about both campuses.
