Greetings!
Thanks
to the generous contributions of a handful of faithful supporters South
Africa Mission (SAM) is now receiving almost $500 per month on a
regular bases. The SAM board has voted to divert these monthly
contributions directly to our partners on the ground in South Africa
who are on the front line in the battle against the spread of HIV. We
are currently only able to help the team leaders financially. The
reality is that each of these leaders has a team of four to ten
volunteers helping them and in the month of August they continued on
with the program and taught another 735 students. We
are praying that God will broaden our monthly support base and allow us
to help all the team members to at least cover out of pocket expenses
like taxi fare and meals on the days they teach. We
also want to help the teams cover the cost of running the class helping
pay for printing, and the little gifts that are given to the students,
pencils, stickers, and candy. If you are interested in supporting these efforts on a monthly basis contact me.Peace,

Encountering Opportunities
by Susan O'Hara During one of the Better Choices training classes I felt prompted to talk with the kids about what they think
their purpose in life might be in respect to the life choices they
make, what dreams they think God has placed in their hearts. One young woman asked "How can I attain my dreams, if I have no one to support me?" Encountering this dear soul wondering how to hold onto a dream in the midst of seemingly hopeless consequences I was changed. God led me to an opportunity to support this young woman to attend college. $50 per month for four years will give this child of God everything she needs to attend college including housing and books. Giving her a tangible opportunity to attain her dream of becoming a business woman and making a real difference in her community. See her lovely response.

What is the Next Step for Mission 2009?
Our mission plan is to present the Campus Crusade Smart Choices curriculum to High School Students for AIDS
awareness and prevention.
This curriculum linked with our Church-to-Church Partnership Program is proving to be an extremely effective method for training
students and for exposing them to the gospel and a personal relationship
with God. There
are two mission trips planned for 2009. If
you are interested in participating in one of these trips then the next step is to review
the trip details by clicking on the following links: Trip to Durban, June 12-27, 2009 Trip to Richards Bay July 29 - August 16, 2009

Meet Derrick & Constance Manqele
Derrick and Constance Manqele are the leaders of the Richards Bay area, which we also refer to as the northern area. I often refer to Derrick as Mr. Personality. Derrick is the new Campus Crusade Leader for the Northern Kwa Zulu Natal region. He was appointed to this position after brother Francois Rossouw passed away last year. Derrick is a long time Campus Crusade missionary and has achieved the distinction of being the first black South African to be appointed as an area director for Campus Crusade. Two of Derrick's teenage children Sphiwo (daughter) and Njabulo (son) also participated in our teaching team this year.
