GCABC Recognizes Red Seal Journeypersons
GCABC is pleased
to announce that as of March 1, 2010 we will be presenting an award to all
glazing apprentices who have written and passed their red seal inter provincial
exams. GCABC's Board of Directors
recognizes the hard work and sacrifices required by these journeypersons
to complete their training as glaziers. In light of this dedication GCABC wants to recognize this achievement.
This award will
include a monetary award, a certificate of recognition and an invitation to the
annual awards event.
All
journeypersons throughout BC who have written and passed their red seal exam should complete this form and submit to Zana Gordon at zgordon@gca-bc.org
Please be advised that although GCABC would like to recognize all red seal journeypersons from the past, it is not financially practical. This award can only be presented for journeypersons who have written and passed their exams after March 1, 2010.

Blacklisting Liars, Losers, and Misfits
According to the Globe & Mail, employers and recruiters are assembling a "blacklist" of people considered unfit for hiring. Apparently, if you are a liar, a loser, or a misfit then the chances are good that your name will end up on such a list.
Joann Lublin, in her article, "Blacklisted: One mistake can land you on a do-not-hire list" addresses the "unofficial" practice of listing "undesirable applicants". Unbeknownst to the individual, his or her job prospects are curtailed by the fact of having been labeled as an undesirable.
