NAWBO Woman Business Owner of the Year Event Has New Name & Logo

NAWBO Louisville is pleased to announce the new name of the Woman Business Owner of the Year awards held annually in the spring is the EPIC Awards. The name was derived from the criteria to be chosen as the woman business owner of the year.

Demonstrated Excellence as a woman business owner
Demonstrated Professional accomplishments during the past 5 years
Demonstrated Initiative and creativity in addressing major challenges in her business
 Demonstrated Civic and Community involvement

The EPIC logo incorporates two ideas. The first idea portrays the meaning of the word epic and the EPICvisual that one thinks of when they hear this word. The flame represents a woman that embodies the passion to excel in business, the journey of her professional accomplishments, her initiative to take charge and the influence she has on the people around her. You could say she is a hero.

The second idea incorporates the current NAWBO logo. The roundness and thickness of the letters e-p-i-c are based on the two dollar signs merging as one in the current NAWBO logo. As you see in the EPIC logo, the type begins to merge as one as well, symbolizing that the woman who wins this awards need to have excellence, professional accomplishments, initiative, and community involvement all in one.

Along with the above excitement, the call for nominations is going out on September 1st with nominations due by September 30th. The completed applications will be due by November 2 and finalists selected by November 16th.
