Manage your Internet Connection
One of our most common service calls is to troubleshoot internet connection problems. Here are some basic questions we will ask you when you call for help. Knowing the answers to these questions can save you time and money.
Have you checked to make sure all your connections are secure? Is there power to your modem and router? Are there lights blinking? Are they all geen? Have you tried restarting your modem, router, and computer in that order? Is there just one computer that can't access the internet or are all the computers in your home or office offline? Is the offline computer(s) plugged directly into a router or modem or is it on a wireless network? If it is on a wireless network, will it connect to the internet if you plug it in directly to the router or modem? Who is your Internet Service Provider? Are they currently experiencing outages in the area? What kind of modem/router do you have? How old is it? Is your network secure? Do you know the password to your network? Many of our clients don't know the password to their network. Knowing your password can make the difference between support over the phone to help you reset your network and a service call to reset your network. Guess which one will cost you more.
