Greetings!

This month's newsletter is about Counseling for Busy Professionals.

As a Certified Business Coach (www.betseywilliams.com),  I have the privilege of helping people design the kind of lives they want to lead, set achievable goals, and experience the satisfaction of their accomplishments. But sometimes life circumstances can throw you a curve ball and it can be difficult to see your way through the muck and the mire.  As a Licensed Marriage, Family Therapist (MFC351476), I am also trained to help people get through the tough times. Counseling for Busy Professionals (www.bwilliamsmft.com) is my counseling business.  So, what's the difference between coaching and counseling?

If you are at a crossroads professionally (taking your business to the next level, changing careers or wondering how to achieve work/life balance), then coaching may be beneficial.  You will engage in a process to clearly define your goals and develop a workable plan.  You will see results quickly because we focus on small steps with measurable outcomes.  It could include learning to delegate, putting support systems into place and improving your work situation. By taking effective action toward the realization of your goals and dreams, you can reduce stress and increase the quality of your life.

If you find it's difficult to function in your day to day activities because you feel anxious, depressed or have recently suffered the loss of a relationship, then counseling may be beneficial.  Counseling is tailored to your individual needs and includes looking at your thought patterns, your emotional trigger points, and your ability to deal with conflict and loss.  There may be situations where it's important to make peace with past trauma. In addition to gaining insight, you will learn practical skills and strategies to reduce pain and improve how you cope with the challenges you face.

Both my coaching and counseling clients are treated with compassion, respect, and confidentiality.  If you are thinking about getting support but are not sure whether coaching or counseling would be best for your situation, please contact me and we can decide together. I am happy to offer a free 15 minute consultation by phone or in my office.
