Happy New Year! |
As with each passing year, this new year brings change (the only constant, according to the wise old saying). Hopefully, this year's changes will be for the positive.
In terms of changes for Time Well Spent, it is my hope that 2010 will be the year I create the physical space I have envisioned to support my work at Time Well Spent, focused on helping you help yourself, those in need and the environment!
I often say that I can't make my vision for Time Well Spent a reality alone, so growing the concept while in touch with the various stakeholders makes a whole lot of sense! Newsletter recipients, like you, are stakeholders in one way or another. So, my continued thanks for your interest and support.
Truth be told, (and I'm all about authenticity and transparency!), starting a triple-bottom-line enterprise from scratch isn't easy! It's wonderful, even at this "pre-launch" stage, to be able to help people improve the quality of their lown lives, the lives of those in need and the environment . Already actively serving my mission gives me the strength and determination to forge on!
Growing the new business concept and gaining traction is so critical to making the Time Well Spent center a reality. Your active support is incredibly important at this time.
Here are a few ways you can take 5 minutes ~ give or take ~ to help Time Well Spent today ~ or whenever you are able:
- Mark your calendar for the DeClutter For Good donation drive (details below) and start a donation pile.
- If you don't have things fitting this month's declutter focus, forward this email to 5 friends who might!
- Post a flyer at work. (Email me for one.)
- Facebook Users - Become a TWS FAN!
- Facebook FANS - Suggest TWS to Friends.
- Forward the email to 5 friends even if you are going to DeClutter For Good this month!
- Twitter users - Follow me and ReTweet...
- Reply to this email with one bit of feedback (critical, complementary or otherwise!)
Helping me help others will surely be Time Well Spent...and something I appreciate sincerely.
Heartfelt Thanks & Carpe Diem ~
Nancy

Special Thanks! |
From time to time, people go that extra mile. Here are two women whose expert help means the world to me (with lots of links to their great sites):
Based in Salem, MA, an award-winning acting coach, videographer of business professionals, and MORE, Debra is as sincere as she is dynamic. She helped me learn how to describe Time Well Spent confidently and concisely and captured it on 4 video clips that will be featured on the Time Well Spent Online website. Folks who know me best are thinking, "Really? Nancy concise? Really?"
Barbara is a talented artist and graphic designer (a fabulous combination) and a lover of all things green and repurposed! She also holds art classes and "artsy" events at her lovely studio in Ipswich ~ definitely worth checking out. Barbara helped me polish up my LOGO design for online use. It's pictured above ~ What do you think?
Barter and/or Sponsorship Opportunities
I love to connect with other purpose-driven people, and help them to connect with one another. If you are interested in exchanging talents, let's chat about the possibilities. I'll be sure to give you lots of shout-outs ~ both online and offline! | |

DeClutter For GoodTM January 2010 & Beyond |
Sadly, the critical need for warm children's clothing for struggling families in Massachusetts, as in other cold-weather states, continues to grow. Cradles to Crayons, an organization I have worked with several times now, has an incredibly efficient system in place to help children state-wide through 400+ service organizations (including those I have worked with like Cornerstones Ipswich and Gloucester's Wellspring House).
Combining these facts together with my need to focus on moving Time Well Spent closer to launch, I've decided to start the year with a repeat DeClutter For Good donation drive focus for January - warm children's clothing for Cradles to Crayons. Click here to read a moving guest post about a child receiving their kidpack from C2C! It's written by Christine McCall, an Americorps worker who I was lucky to work with during her time at C2C.

Looking Ahead ~ Tentative Schedule
Volunteer & Sponsorship Opportunities
Click here to go to my post with the tentative schedule for the next few months. It will help you to plan ahead for DeCluttering For Good at your house! And, you can learn about some great ideas for helping me, including sponsorship and volunteer opportunities, as I strive to help those in need and the environment ~ Good stuff! Heck...I gotta say it, "Time Well Spent!"
Focusing your de-cluttering efforts on one topic at a time and contributing toward a collective drive for a worthy recipient organization is manageable, empowering and rewarding...

"Touring" Time Well Spent ~ The Recycle For Good WALL |
Time Well Spent is designed as a multi-use center for collaboration and creativity, an inspiring place where our collective clutter is repurposed even as we find a renewed sense of purpose in our own lives. It's a comprehensive and original concept, so a great deal to take in, admittedly...
In an effort to break it down and provide details a little at a time, I'm using the e-newsletter to focus on one area each month, giving a brief overview and directing readers to posts and webpages with more details.
The Recycle For Good WALL
~Taking Recycling Beyond the Curb~
The Recycle For Good WALL is envisioned as both a focal point and active part of Time Well Spent. It will be an amazing receptacle for items that can be reused in purposeful ways, once gathered and disseminated appropriately. At once inspiring and educational, The WALL has the potential to serve as the signature visual statement at Time Well Spent. The WALL will serve to increase awareness of earth-friendly lifestyle choices and our everyday habits as we get typical recycling materials on the path to a new use.
Until I have the permanent space, I can't go forward full throttle with this integral piece of the puzzle. I am especially excited for the day when The Recycle For Good WALL is a reality!
To see my sketch of The WALL (such as it is...) and a list of some of the items planned to be Recycled For Good, click here.
If you missed the past newsletters describing the different areas that have already been featured (Hey, it happens...), click on the following links:
To visit the page dedicated to an overview of the entire multi-use center ~ get your beverage of choice and make yourself comfy ~ and click here!
As always, your feedback and questions are welcomed and encouraged!
