Thank you for opening, reading, and sharing this summer DeClutter For Good email! I hope this email finds all happy and healthy.
You may recall that I had put the DeClutter For Good drives and my monthly newsletter on hiatus for the summer so that I could work on the business end of getting Time Well Spent, my mission-driven start-up launched...
Well, an emergency e-mail request from Cradles to Crayons tugged at my heartstrings. I knew it was important to share their request and help folks in the 'burbs help children in need. Rather than a full e-newsletter update, I'm sending out this quick emergency request to those on my email list from Massachusetts.
Please find some time in the next week to focus on decluttering your kid's clothing for a good cause! No kids in your house? If you forward this email to friends with kids, along with a word of encouragement to "DeClutter For Good," that's "Time Well Spent" as well!
The drop-off information is included below.
About Cradles to Crayons
A reminder that Cradles to Crayons is a non-profit organization that provides free, "good enough for your own child" clothing and equipment, reaching tens of thousands of kids in need each year, by partnering with over 400 service organizations right here in Massachusetts.
C2C works efficiently to provide care packages of donations to those less fortunate, freeing up the smaller, local service organizations to focus on their important work to support those families in need. Those care package requests are processed and hand-selected for each child by volunteers at their warehouse known as The Giving Factory... A wonderful system of community and caring! Check out their
website for more info or if you want to run your own drive on their behalf. Christine McCall, C2C's community liaison to the north shore, would be happy to help you get started or just discuss the possibilities.
Volunteers Needed
I am looking for 2 volunteers to split the day on the 26th at my pre-launch office, accepting the donations that come in. This can serve as community service for teens in need of hours. It provides a warm, fuzzy feeling for anyone in need of the good feeling that comes with helping others. And, it gives you time to poke around my pre-launch office! It's like a pre-school of activities, books and treasures to explore for grown-ups! I've just started adding photos of the office to my pre-launch weblog. If you'd like to take a virtual peek, keep your eye on the
form and function page of my weblog.
Having someone handling the drop-off day will free me up to spend my day at the Bittersweet Collectibles Flea Market (Route 1A in Rowley, just south of the famous, and gigantic, Todd Farm Flea Market). I have started setting up a table at this quaint flea market as I work to bootstrap my way through the pre-launch phase, selling some eco-arts and supplies and sharing my Time Well Spent concept. It's fun ~ drop by this Sunday ~ I'll be there!
