Greetings!

Thank you for opening, reading, and sharing this special email announcement.

In addition to our scheduled monthly DeClutter For Good book drive this coming Sunday, Time Well Spent will also be holding a special DeClutter Children's Warm Clothing For Good event this coming Monday. We are holding this special event in response to an urgent need reported by Cradles to Crayons (you can read the page from their website by clicking here).

I've chosen to hold this event in conjunction with Martin Luther King Day which was deemed a Call to Service Day in 1994 and is taking on increased significance in light of next week's historic inauguration and President-Elect Obama's service manifesto, echoing the message of MLK Call to Service day . Visit the MLK Day Site which encourages all US citizens to "make it a day on, not a day off!"

Note that we still will be holding our regular monthly DeClutter For Good event on Sunday (this month's focus is a book drive to benefit More Than Words and other service organizations in need of books - you can read all the details by clicking here).

Though it is sure to be a bit cluttered at my pre-launch office, all are encouraged to bring their donations for either of the DeClutter For Good drives or for both ~ books and/or warm children's clothing ~ on either of the scheduled days this weekend. Think of how great it will feel to clear clutter from your own home and put it to good use for those in need.

Parents, get the kids involved, too! Folks of all ages are encouraged to answer the call to service by giving of your time, your clutter and yourself, perhaps as your first active step in service or by venturing into an area of service you haven't yet experienced. However you choose to participate, I can all but guarantee that you will get back more than you give!

8,500 people have already answered the call to action, read about them by clicking here . Thousands more ongoing service opportunities exist. Check the following links:

Know of a great organization but don't see a listing for it at one of the these sites? Encourage service organizations that you know that might benefit from the use of the above sites to take advantage of these effective communication tools, if they haven't already.

If you are looking to participate in the MLK Call to Service day but only have an hour or so to give and you live on Boston's North Shore, I certainly could use some extra hands on deck this coming weekend and next week to help organize the donations and ready them for delivery. Offers to help deliver the donations to Cradles to Crayons in Quincy are welcome and carry the added bonus of the opportunity to visit the amazing "Giving Factory" at Cradles to Crayons when you make the delivery!

I'll be heading to More Than Words with the book donations on the 27th, combining the drop-off with a MLK breakfast at Bentley ~ how fitting! That said, if we reach our goal of 1,000 books, we'll need another delivery made and a visit to Waltham-based More Than Words is quite inspiring.

As always, I welcome any questions, feedback or suggestions. Just reply to this email and it will land in my inbox!

With Sincere Thanks,
