Happy New Year!

I hope this month's update finds you ~ and those whom you hold dear ~ safe, healthy and happy in spite of the troubled economic times.

HOPE FOR THE FUTURE

While I know we are in the midst of a national crisis, I can't help but believe that, as much as there is adversity, there are also opportunities for a stronger, more stable and sustainable economy. What's more, I am confident that the opportunity also exists for stronger, happier and healthier individuals, families, relationships and local communities.

We have before us the chance to make thoughtful choices, live each day with gratitude for what we do have and with kindness toward others ~ from our closest family members to the myriad of people who cross our path each day.

These aren't just buzzwords or pie-in-the-sky rhetoric. These are the keys to a better, brighter future. Embrace today and live with more purposeful intent and focus on the present, with a sense of community and stewardship to those in need and the environment ~ and, the future will start looking brighter. Kind of ironic!

Consider whether or not you are facing each day with gratitude and purposeful intention to live your life to the fullest ~ for self, family, those in need and the environment. If you are, please help spread that message of caring and compassion. Optimism and hope are going to do far more to bolster individuals and the economy than pessimism and despair! Not there yet? Give it a try. It just might change your life!

OPPORTUNITY FOR THE FUTURE

As one year begins, so another one has suddenly ended. Where did the time go? My greatest regret in not getting Time Well Spent officially launched yet is that I know it could be particularly helpful to so many struggling individuals, artists, local business people and community members in need. So, while I am trying not to be too hard on myself, I really feel a sense of obligation, stronger than ever, to kick it into high gear and make my vision for Time Well Spent a reality in 2009.

My research has exposed me to more opportunities than could possibly be addressed through Time Well Spent alone (in spite of it's multi-function structure).  Contact me if you find yourself in need of a new business idea to consider or if you know of someone facing a career change ~ whether out of choice or necessity. Many skill sets are transferrable to exciting new possibilities.  I'll be adding these ideas to a new page of the weblog soon, so watch for that as well.

Your positive thoughts and energy, kind words and active support will mean more than ever this year. If you can give of your time, your clutter, your ideas or expertise, I promise you it will be ~ you guessed it ~ Time Well Spent.

Making my vision a reality will be a collaborative effort! Check out this post to see if you or someone you know might be able to make one of my "wishes come true" for Time Well Spent, thereby helping others and the environment in the process.

Help Spread the Word
This post outlines some ideas for helping me in an important and relatively easy way, just by spreading the word!

Held at a "campy" camp complete with a fieldstone fireplace and pond views, this indoor flea market will start up again on Sunday, February 1st. I'll be there along with lots of folks who are into cherished treasures, hand-made goods, and repurposed wonders like Adirondack chairs made from old skis! A whole new twist on the term "Cabin Fever," this is a great take for summer flea market lovers in need of a fix and folks seeking inspiration and a welcoming place to share a positive attitude about all things local. Great people and great stuff.

Know what you want to do,
hold the thought firmly,
and do every day what should be done,
and every sunset will see you that much nearer the goal.
