November Greetings (Contact First Name),
In the midst of this stressful economic and political time, it's important to keep in mind that all things pass... Of course, this is true for both happy and not-so-happy times ~ all the more reason that we choose how to spend our time in a way that enhances the quality of our lives, and that of our families, even as we make choices that are mindful of the needs of others and the environment.
Whatever an individual's political leanings or income status, tying the "pursuit of happiness" for ourselves and our families with reaching out to those in need provides a sense of true purposefulness and fulfillment that material wealth can never replace. And, thank goodness, given the current status of material wealth these days...or lack thereof!
I am pleased to report that the cornerstone of our calendar, our DeClutter For Good Monthly Donation Drives, are off to a great start, with the focus of our decluttering changing each month to a new item, or group of items, currently cluttering many of our homes. Our efforts to declutter our homes combine beautifully with our service mission as our decluttered donations are given to organizations that benefit those in need. Keeping it convenient while trying to maximize the positive impact of our collective giving, even as we organize our own homes and families to live our best life, I'd say that's Time Well Spent!
This month, I hope you are able to declutter and donate your extra holiday clothes, clutter & crafts and sincerely appreciate your taking the time to support this effort. Read on for the details and related links...
It's sure to be Time Well Spent!

November DeClutter For Good ~ Holiday Clutter |
Holiday Clothes, Clutter and Crafts...You know you have plenty of it taking up space in your attics, basements, even your closets and under your beds (guilty!). It's just waiting patiently, as it does each year, to trip you up (literally, in some cases) as the holiday season hits! Here's a chance to DeClutter For Good...
What? Holiday Clothes and Decorative Clutter & Old Holiday Crafts, Books and Greeting Cards
With Whom? Ipswich Caring, The Salvation Army, Cradles to Crayons & Time Well Spent When? Sunday, November 30th, 10am-4pm
(I know it's not the third weekend... I think this is better for the holiday season!)
Where? Time Well Spent Pre-Launch Office
Route 1 (89 Turnpike Drive), Ipswich, MA
Transparency ~ Full Disclosure (a hallmark of doing business at Time Well Spent): With the vast majority of donations being distributed to the Salvation Army, Ipswich Caring and Cradles to Crayons, I do want to point out that we may keep some of the donated holiday-related craft supplies to add to the materials for repurposing creativity and inspiration at Time Well Spent... A breakdown of donated items will be provided in next month's newsletter. Check out the update below for the full October results.
I'll be blogging in more detail about the Holiday DeClutter For Good plans soon, you can check the front page of my blog for updates by clicking here.

October BOOK Drive Results
|
Safe to say that I am officially a fan of More Than Words (you can read my full follow up post by clicking here). It is worthwhile to note that I was completely unaware that this wonderful organization even existed until I started my
pre-launch journey of my new social enterprise. I think I can say it's
already been time well spent and I'm only just getting started...
How did we do by the numbers? Great! Here's the breakdown:
A
total of 438 books were donated at our book drive, clearing up clutter
in the homes of families who Decluttered For Good, without adding to
the landfills. I delivered 385 of those books to More Than Words on
Moody Street in Waltham to help fund their mission through the resale
of those books online and at their storefront and coffee shop. If you
are ever in the area, I highly recommend you stop in for a visit and a
super price on some great books. The remaining 53 books were kept at
Time Well Spent, as originally described, for use in the Workshop for
altered book art projects or in the Learning and Sharing Center where
we have a growing library of self-help and how-to books on a variety of
topics.
Thanks so much to those who donated books! Know that you made a
difference! If you missed the book drive, don't fret, we'll be holding
another one next year for More Than Words. You are welcome to donate books to their Waltham-based storefront anytime! To get their contact information, click here. Or, simply reply to this email and I'll be happy to get you connected!

Sharing an Attitude of Gratitude is Time Well Spent |
Last month, I invited readers to share one thing for which they are grateful, for the fun of it, but also to provide a moment to pause and consider the importance of one's perspective in this crazy game of life, particularly as the stock market was crashing even as my enewsletter was reaching my readers.
Respondents earned "20 clutter credits." Inspired by carbon credits, clutter credits will be awarded for contributed materials and may be used as currency toward any of the donated/contributed materials. Click here to read several responses . Given that the season of Thanksgiving is upon us (exactly how did that happen??!!), you are welcome to add to the list of gratitude, if you are so inclined, and you can "earn" clutter credits, too.
