Pre-Launch Business Announcement ~ April 2008

(Or... What Has Nancy Gotten Herself Into Now???)
 Greetings!

Over the past few months, I've been researching an innovative business
concept. The idea came to me ~ in surprisingly vivid detail ~ just as I was embracing the start of this particular new year as a time of fresh beginnings and life-changing opportunity. I know, I know... After a decade of advocacy, activism and volunteerism, I should just go "find a job" in the non-profit sector or some service-related industry. That would be too easy! Truthfully, I feel driven to move forward on this challenging path because my vision is so complete and the potential for meaningful success is so great, in terms of positive community, social and environmental impact.

So, this is my first round of announcements and I'm sending it to those who I expect will be interested in my concept and who are most likely to support my efforts in some way. Don't you feel special?!

I can honestly promise you that, if you choose to get involved on some level, you will be so happy you did.  Thanks for considering my request for help outlined below. I'll send another update soon. In the meantime, enjoy the beautiful weather and the extra-purposeful spring cleaning.

                                                    Warm Springtime Regards,

                                 Nancy
Ready to  DeClutter Your Home "For Good?"

Yes, the double meaning is intentional ... For a Good Cause and FOREVER!

The initial start-up of the business will require a collective effort to amass many unused items from our homes. We'll be recycling, repurposing, reusing, donating and recreating things that are not only going to waste, but are actually adding to the clutter and chaos of our everyday lives.

By decluttering with a purpose (to benefit others and the environment), you and your family will truly benefit as well. I just love it!

Okay, there will be plenty of time down the road to consider all the warm feelings and positive energy your involvement will generate...

For now, let's focus on the practical matter of the decluttered items that will begin the transformation of this idea into a reality! Check out the list of items I'm interested in and plan some family spring cleaning time!

Also, as you start spring cleaning and decluttering, set aside special mementos and odds-and-ends with meaning for your family. I'll share a project to get those treasures out of the storage boxes and drawers and displayed in a special way.

It is sure to be
Time Well Spent...

Hold it Right There!

Before you pack up the car and head to my house... Hang onto your soon-to-be-repurposed clutter for now. I'm working toward securing my location. Once I do, I'll share the drop-off plan.

I'm working toward an online, comprehensive "DeClutter For Good" list as well as a "Recycle for Good" list (more on that another time!). For now, when in doubt about any item I may or may not be able to use, just set it aside or shoot me an email to run it by me. Chances are I have some creative idea or donation plan to turn your unused clutter into someone's "treasure."

Many Hands...

Making my vision a reality will require the support of friends, family, neighbors, community contacts (both real and virtual), and even complete strangers ("friends I haven't met yet").

My favorite part... Everyone wins. My business will benefit so many people on so many levels. It is at once exhilarating and exhausting. Things worth working for generally are...

WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN WIN

What exactly will be happening at my new business? What is it? Where? When? What has Nancy gotten herself into now???  You'll have to wait for my next update to find out...

One Final Note...
If you have friends or family you think might be interested in a heads up to DeClutter For Good ~ particularly those with children home for school vacation week, those who are faithful spring cleaners, or those who are into all things eco-friendly ~ I would truly appreciate your using the "Forward email" link below (rather than your email's forward button) to spread the word. Thanks! N.
