For this edition of the Souveraen 800, the nib will be marked as IB (Italic Broad) with the broadest line width corresponding to approximately 1.5mm. The new Pelikan 800 Italic exemplifies the tradition of high quality writing nibs providing ultra smooth and even writing strokes. The pen's cap and body are meticulously formed from highest-quality resin and sport the iconic striped sleeve of cellulose acetate. The clip and the rings are 24 carat gold-plated, and the nib is fashioned from 18-carat gold with a rhodium trim and iridium grain.
