Fathers

From The Very Reverend Robert C. Wright
Rector

All of us are sons or daughters of a father.

There are all kinds of fathers. All kinds of children.

Some fathers were there, are there. Loving and wise. Day after day. Other fathers were missing, are still missed.  Distant and non-supportive.

This fathers day, forgive them.  Finally, let it go.  Ask Jesus for some help.  Heal.

Many fathers are extraordinary!  They are blessings they themselves never experienced. Some fathers are sooo good at being fathers, they raise other people's children.

The best fathers attempt to live like and love like Jesus' Father. Jesus wanted to be like His Father. Jesus wanted to love like His Father. That is the highest praise any child can give their father.

Children imitate the way their father's love! Jesus heard his Father call him beloved. That's how He was able to go through hell. It was the Father's love that raised the Son from the dead.

"Let us give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the merciful Father, the God from whom all help comes. "

(1 Corinthians 1:3)

A Blessed Father's Day to you.
