Different

From The Very Reverend Robert C. Wright
Rector

We imitate Jesus, so we're different.

Jesus says let go and live. The world says living is control.

Jesus says gather, celebrate together. Relationship!  The world says be independent, loneliness is all there really is. You don't need anyone.

Jesus is available and open to all kinds of people. The world tells us to be closed and to protect ourselves.

Jesus says you are beloved, blemishes and all. The world says you matter based on what you have.

Jesus says give and share.  The world says take and exclude.

Each day, wherever we are, to be faithful means being like Jesus. Faithful means being joyfully different from the ways of the world. Being saved by Jesus means He has opened up a way for us to live. Really live. Water in the desert.

So, "since you are God's dear children, imitate Him." (Ephesians 5:1) Be different. We already are. Thanks be to God!

Prayer for today:

Thank you Lord for making all the difference.

God's Peace & Blessings,

Rob+
