TOMORROW: Global Missions Meeting

Global Missions is having a meeting in the church library, on Saturday May 19, from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Current members and interested individuals are all encouraged to attend!

For those who don't already know,

Global Missions serves countries and communities in need through fundraisers, outreach, and missions trips. Haiti is the largest Diocese in the Episcopal Church and is St. Paul's main mission country. In conjunction with St. Bartholomew's, St. Paul's pays for the education and nourishment of 250 schoolchildren in the Bois Blanc and Montrouis communities, in Haiti. St. Paul's has also conducted a mission trip to Nicaragua, and, in 2010, youngsters from our church traveled to give assistance in Jamaica.

Please come and learn more about what we do and participate! See you tomorrow!

For more information (or if you are interested but can't make the meeting) email Edvige Jean-Francois at edvjf@aol.com.

Adult Bible Study This Week

This week, Sunday Adult Bible Class will have as its presenter Father Monroe Freeman who will speak on the topic: A Closer Look at the Ascension.

You will be invited to think on this:

  • What did Jesus promise the disciples?
  • What did the disciples ask Jesus?
  • But what did Jesus give them?
  • How does this promise fit into your spiritual journey?

Garden Gratitude

A special thanks to Eddie Hollingsworth and company!!

Thanks to the efforts of our tireless volunteers, there is a beautiful community garden with collard greens, squash, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, etc, located behind the outreach house.

In addition to beautifying the neighborhood, we hope this community garden initiative will bring neighbors together and will help our food pantry families supplement their food supply with fresh, nutritious vegetables.

Don't Forget to Wear Red for Pentecost!

Pentecost Sunday is coming up on May 27 and we'd like to remind everyone to wear red in honor of the occasion.

Add a spot of red flair with a tie or a bow...

Or dress yourself fully with red head to toe!

St. Paul's invites and encourages everyone to get into the spirit of the Spirit!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

The Episcopal Churchmen is planning its annual trek to a baseball game (with tailgate party!) on Saturday, August 18. The game is @ 7:10 P.M. against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and that game is also a part of the Delta Civil Rights Weekend.

The ticket price is $35, which includes the tailgate party (hot dogs, hamburgers, and the works), in Bowden Hall beginning at 3:30 P.M.  You are responsible for your own transportation to Turner Field (some of us will ride MARTA).

To get the group sales price, we must purchase at least 30 tickets.

Tickets for this game are expected to sell quickly, and the Churchmen will purchase its tickets during the first week of July.  We will begin collecting for tickets this weekend.

THE DEADLINE TO PURCHASE TICKETS FOR THIS GAME IS SUNDAY, JULY 1, 2012.

For more information, contact Bob Martin at  robertemartin@bellsouth.net or call 404.695.0140.

Goodbye, AOL... Hello, StPaulsATL!

St. Paul's is getting new email addresses!

During the month of May, St. Paul's is rolling out new email addresses that match our Internet domain address. Soon, all  email address will be First initial, Last Name like so:

CFischer@StPaulsATL.org  (OK to use NOW!)

KKing@StPaulsATL.org (OK to use NOW!)

(The addresses aren't case-sensitive... they just "read" easier that way!)

We ask that everyone to begin using the new email for Father Fischer and Kelly King and stay tuned for notification that Father Wright and Trey Clegg have been "integrated" as well. By May 31, everyone will be transitioned and the AOL accounts will be closed forever.

In the meantime, as everyone gets their new addresses set up, you will begin getting return messages from their old addresses reminding you that the old address is being discontinued. We'll keep reminding you here as well.

On June 1, it's finished. No do-overs, no take-backs, no nothing.

Please do your part to keep us in touch!!
