Always

From The Very Reverend Robert C. Wright
Rector

"After his suffering, Jesus presented himself as alive..."

                                                Acts 1.3

You were so dutiful keeping a holy Lent.  Now, be dutiful in keeping a joyful Easter.  Easter is a season after all, not just a day.  Fifty days to rejoice that, "God raised Jesus from the dead!"  Why don't you throw an Easter party in the next weeks?

One word sums up Easter for me: Always. God raised Jesus from the dead so that you and I and generations yet unborn would believe God when God says, Always.  Always, I am with you.  Always my word will work.  Always my love endures.  Always my way is the way to life.  I will Always defeat death!

Everything is changing.  Everything.  Even the earth is moving under our feet, geologist and seismologist tell us.  The Church itself must change as we move forward, but God is the same, then, now and forever.

"God's mercy endures forever."  "...From everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children."  In all-ways God is reaching out to us, by His grace that we might be convinced that when God says always, God means ALWAYS!

Thought for today

I will rest secure in God.

Prayer for today:

Help me, Lord, to choose things eternal

more than things that are passing away.

God's Peace & Blessings,

Rob+
