Easter Cross Flowers

Don't forget that we're decorating an Easter Cross on Easter Sunday after the Sunrise Service and before the 11:15 Service. We invite everyone to bring one live flower to place on the cross.

The cross will be outside near the Columbarium.

Easter Parking

This Easter, we're expecting a phenomenal turnout (like every year, actually!).  As you know, the majority of the parking for St. Paul's is located across the street in our spacious overflow lot.

For Easter, we'd appreciate it if everyone fit enough to walk the length of a football field would park across the street. This would allow St. Paul's to graciously offer the closest parking to those who need it most.

Jorge_LawtonSpecial Healing Service for Jorge Lawton

Jorge Lawton Healing Service

Sunday, April 15  at  5:00 P.M.

In one week, St. Paul's own Jorge Lawton will be admitted to Emory Hospital for a bone marrow transplant. Diagnosed 3½ years ago with a rare form of blood cancer (multiple myeloma, medically considered to be "incurable") Jorge's kidneys will not withstand any more chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant using his own healthy stem cells appears to be his last hope.

On Sunday, April 15 - the eve of his hospital admission - St. Paul's is holding an ecumenical Healing Service (with The St. Paul's Choir) to lift Jorge and his medical team up in prayer for strength, endurance, concentration, comfort, and a successful outcome.

This is Jorge's spiritual home, and St. Paul's is his spiritual family. Everyone is invited to be a part of this special worship.

  Also invited are:

  • Jorge's close clergy friends: Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, Islam and other Episcopalians.
  • Internationally recognized singer, Luci Murphy, from Washington, D.C. to sing Violeta Parra's hauntingly beautiful Chilean folk song, Gracias a La Vida {Thanks for Life}.
  • Medical professionals from Emory University's Winship Cancer Institute and other Clinics who served as members of Jorge's medical teams  (including oncology, cardiology, nephrology, endocrinology, opthalmology, oral surgery, and primary care) as a way of thanking them for all they have done for him in the past three years.

There will be a light reception following the service.

Kindly RSVP to Leslie Epps-Bodrick if you plan to attend so that we may accommodate Jorge and his guests accordingly. Thank you!
