62nd Annual Debutante Ball

For 61 years, the Eta Sigma Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. has presented glittering Debutante Balls marked with beauty, pageantry and tradition to Atlanta society. Sigma Gamma Rho is a collegiate, community service entity dedicated to the enrichment and promotion of high scholastic attainment, education of youth and improving the quality of life.

It would certainly enhance this year's Debutante Ball if there were young ladies from the membership of St. Paul's Episcopal Church being presented. An informational meeting about the 62nd Debutante Ball will be held on Saturday, March 17. Young ladies who will be entering 11th or 12th grade in the upcoming school year (2012-2013), wishing to participate as either a sub-debutante or debutante and their parents or guardians, are invited.

This meeting and the 62nd Debutante Ball are co-sponsored by the Yellow Tea Rose Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization and will also provide information about the Miss Rhomania Scholarship Contest, which is a part of the debutante Ball.

Be There When Someone Needs You Most

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of those who need you the most?  Do you enjoy hearing stories and holding hands?  Are you

compassionate as well as passionate about blessings others?  If you said "yes" to these questions, you probably should consider becoming a hospice volunteer!

Hospice volunteers are companions and sympathetic listeners for hospice patients who are in the last days of their lives.  They assist with patient and family care providing emotional and spiritual support.  Volunteers visit patients at home as well as in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and personal care homes.  Volunteer activities can include: conversation, listening to music, playing games, running errands, watching TV together, prayer, light housework, and looking at scrapbooks.  The list is only limited by your imagination!

Georgia Hospice is offering Saint Paul's Episcopal Church members an opportunity to learn more about becoming a hospice volunteer.  We are conducting educational seminars on Tuesday, April 17 and Saturday, April 21.  Both sessions are 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM with a light breakfast and lunch  provided.  You will have the opportunity to ask questions and hear presentations from our staff of administrators, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and certified nursing assistants.  In addition, for those interested in joining our team, full training is offered following the seminar.

Georgia Hospice has been blessed to care for one of Saint Paul's special saints--Reese Johnson.  Our team has enjoyed getting to know Reese and his family.  We thank you for giving us this blessing!  We hope that you will consider becoming a volunteer to help other saints in our communities receive our love and support!

Contact Scott Uzzel for additional details.
