"Test me in this," says the LORD Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it."
Mal. 3.10
Stewardship
For nine weeks members of the St. Paul's have told us that God is good. In videos and articles, each one, in their own way has said that God found them and God blessed them; some of them in extraordinary seasons of need. All of their stories moved me. But it was the testimony of one of our teenagers that really got to me. How she and others at an orphanage in Jamaica took the shoes off of their feet and gave them to the children. That would have been enough, but they came home, our teenagers, and organized a shoe drive to do more, to bless more. When you get a clear idea about how good God really is, you have to respond.
For more than 131 years St. Paul's has increased in her response to God's generosity. God has found us and blessed us and we have shared and are sharing. We are responding to God's blessings with our expertise, our calendars and our checkbooks and you can see the fruit! This Sunday we come to worship this good God and to make our pledge to keep God's work going on Peyton Rd., and in Bois Blanc and the Central Plateau of Haiti. How fortunate we really are that this good God has made room for us to partner with Him in all this good work.
Thought for today: I am God's partner in blessing the world.
Prayer for today: All I am, and all I have is yours God, show me how best to respond.

Stewardship Reflection - A Legacy of Stewardship Expands: It Causes Us to Flourish!
Every week a member of the St. Paul's congregation will share their reflection on Stewardship. Below is an excerpt from Jesse Potsdamer Watson's reflection. Follow the link at the end to read the full offering. "And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work." ( 2 Corinthians 9:8). This scripture captures the essence of stewardship. The question is raised, what is stewardship? Stewardship is a way of life. When Jesus saw the widow putting her "two pennies" in the Temple treasury, He told his disciples, "Truly, I say unto you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the treasury. For they all contributed out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put everything she had, her whole living" (Mark 12:43-44). And that is what God expects from us. I was blessed to have my father as a role model for stewardship who established a legacy of giving that continues now for four generations. Therefore, I can give the very personal testimony of the practice of stewardship in my family. Click here to read more >
