All thy works shall praise thee, O LORD; and thy saints shall bless thee. Psalm 145:10
Saints.

Just being dead doesn't make you a saint. To be a saint, you have to have been alive once. Saints are alive to God. Saints aren't perfect people, thank God. Saints are people who are experiencing the perfecting grace of God. God makes saints out of aint's because that's just what God does. God does this to show us what kind of God, God is.
When we get a glimpse of this saint making God in the mirror or in our neighbor, then we pay God glory with our lips and with our real life choices. Jesus gave us countless examples of this. He met people and people responded to that meeting. Some responded instantly some more slowly, but that meeting - those meetings - happen our whole life long. Being a saint is serious business. Nothing we can do can mess it up. You are a saint no matter what you have done or left undone because nothing we can do or not do can reverse God's work in us. The only question is, are you an active saint or an inactive saint?
The Holy Spirit is crafting, out of ALL that we are a beautiful work. Give into to it. He made you for life. He made you for love. He made you for his glory.
Thought for today: I am God's active saint.
Prayer for today: I give in Lord, You made me to live differently from the world.

Stewardship Reflection - The Meaning of Stewardship
 | |
Linda McMurray
|
The meaning of stewardship has been debated for quite some time with definitions surrounding time spent focusing on the Lord, building relationships with others and using the gifts God has given. The meaning of Christian stewardship has focused many times on tithing, but this is not the priority definition when discussing the subject. The priorities involved are how time is spent, how relationships are retained, and then how money is spent.
There are a lot of things that have to do with this responsibility that many people have never been aware of. Most agree that a good idea is to spend time studying ways to become a responsible Christian. The Lord gives a few thoughts on the subject in the Bible, but those who were good stewards, were incredibly blessed. The meaning involves how the precious gifts that God has given to all are used and cared for. The good steward is someone who is doing the best he can with the things that God has given him. The reality shows up in how a person reacts in situations and how much they are willing to sacrifice to retain their responsibility.

Among those requesting host families are students at Atlanta Metropolitan College, Candler School of Theology, Clark Atlanta University, Emory University, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Interdenominational Theological Seminary, Morehouse College, Morris Brown College, and Spelman College.

Prematurity Awareness Month
The March of Dimes h as designatedNovember as Prematurity Awareness Month and November 17 as Prematurity Awareness Day. The March of Dimes wants women to know that there are steps they can take to reduce their risk of premature birth, which is the number one killer of newborns and a major cause of serious health problems. One of the best things a woman can do for her baby is to get a medical check up before she gets pregnant. If she's healthy, her baby has a better chance of being born healthy and on time. Babies born too early may have serious health problems. It costs society billions of dollars every year. More than half a million babies are born prematurely every year, and the number is rising. During November, help the March of Dimes fight premature birth. Please visit marchofdimes.com to learn how.
