Hello.
Episcopal Shield

As the new St. Paul's Parish Administrator, I wanted to finally - and properly - greet everyone and tell you all how delighted I am to join the St. Paul's administrative team and thank Father Wright and the Vestry for the opportunity to serve you.

I've spent the last 6 weeks trying to catch a waterfall with a teacup. And now that I've had a chance to get my bearings, I don't mind saying, I can see I've got some pretty big shoes to fill.

As far as I can tell... after 14 years, Jean Simon-Hazzard was the Everything to Everyone.

No matter the question, "Jean knew that".
Regardless the task, "Jean did that".
Whatever you seek, "Jean kept that".

I may not ever achieve Jean's mythical stature of part-savant, part-saint, but it sure is a goal worth pursuing!

I'd like to also give thanks and congrats to our newly titled Assistant Parish Administrator, Leslie Epps-Bodrick, who is an invaluable resource and a true pleasure to work with... and to express my gratitude to everyone who has welcomed me to St. Paul's  with warmth, kindness, and open arms.

Starting next week, I'll be approaching all of you as I target, identify, and connect with the St. Paul's driving forces: the committees, the ministries, the program leaders, the volunteers. I'll be sending out a call for a Who's Who among the parishioners and ask everyone with a particular role (big, small, ongoing, or annual) to step forward and be counted so I can put together a directory of who does what, how to best reach everyone, when to ask questions and when to give answers.

In the meantime, please don't forget that there's a reception this Sunday in the Bowden Hall to celebrate Jean Simon-Hazzard's years of dedicated service and to honor her retirement.

My best to all,

Kelly King
Parish Administrator
