Tonight saw the latest round of primary elections for this summer's Republican nomination. History in the making...or should I say, "His story?"
"...For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God." (Romans 13:1b) Many Scriptures, including Proverbs 8:15-16, prove the same point, that God is ultimately in control. So should we just "sit this one out" and let God do His thing?
No way!
EXACTLY NINE MONTHS before Election Day, we ought to be praying fervently into this primary season. Why? Because DC politics are more important than our "everyday" lives? No. Because we want to be obedient every day. And praying for our leaders (even potential ones) is a "First of all" point of obedience; one we're supposed to do without "wrath and dissension." [1] Easier said than done, at least for me. Naturally, I'm a whiner...prone to judging others and complaining about whatever doesn't suit me. But supernaturally, I'm a warrior...dwelling "in the shelter of the Most High," proactively changing the world from my prayer-closet, by the power of the Holy Spirit. [2]
And I sure don't want to relinquish that God-given authority for the lazy life of a spiritual couch potato! Anybody besides me need a little help getting off that couch-of-complacency?
If so, please consider our mission this year...
Here's a 2012 Preview I just sent to our donors. If the Lord leads you, please print it out, along with our National Prayer of Repentance, and put them both on your fridge. And please pray for us.
Warrior-to-warrior, let's keep each other off that couch.
