Beloved friends,
Deanna and I rarely send prayer requests for issues not directly relating to our ministry, but we just learned of a most urgent situation that's been under-the-radar to most US news organizations, even most prayer-networking sites...
Said (saw-EED) Musa, 45, an Afghan father of six, is awaiting execution this week . His only crime: converting from Islam to Christianity eight years ago. He served in the Afghan army where he lost his leg from a landmine. Before being imprisoned for his faith, he had been ministering to fellow amputees through the Red Cross.
Please pray for God's hand of intervention. Further, please consider sending an email to President Obama urging him to use his God-given authority to influence our ally, the Afghan government. And please share this message on social networking sites.
In last week's email, when I said, "prayer transcends politics," I certainly wasn't advocating we ignore important current issues. We must be salt and light in every arena! Indeed, here I am recommending you write the President today, just as Deanna and I did.
As God speaks step-by-step direction into our lives today, whether to write our leaders or to stay hidden in our prayer-closets (or both), may we obey Him, confident that all hope...for Said Musa, for you and me, and for our nation...is found in Christ alone.
I'll revisit our mission's "five essentials" from the road next week in California.
Your prayers and support are not taken lightly; you are deeply loved and appreciated,
Tom
P.S. Still believing for a paradigm shift...
Many are fasting with us (2/3 - 3/15) for breakthrough in the manner-and-means of how our mission is supported. If you haven't done so, please read my last three briefs since this fast started on 2/3...and please consider how to help.
