Moving Off the Clock during Our Summer Retreat
The past week has been graced for us, as we shelved our daily worries and responsibilities for silence, prayer and daily talks given by our retreat director, retired Bishop Joseph Charron.
Our silence was profound. No phone calls. No job duties. No idle chats.
We did listen, though, and very deeply. We listened to Bishop Joe's wonderful talks. We listened to God's Word in Scripture. We listened to God in the birds ... the bees ... the breezes rustling the grasses. We listened to God in our hearts.
What else did we do? We read and walked. We wrote and sketched. We sat with God. We prayed.
We also reflected on Bishop Joe's daily talks for you. Please join us in Monastery Wisdom for 1 set of reflections, and in Sister Stefanie's ABC's for another set. Let us know if you have any thoughts or questions. We are happy to share what we know ... and think ... and hope with you! |

Is Our Benedictine Community for You? |
We live a balanced life of prayer, work and leisure, together.
We go out for ministry - to teach, serve in parishes, work in social service agencies - but we come home for prayer, meals and leisure. That is, we pray 4 times daily together, we take our meals together, we enjoy quiet time and companionship together. And for those who work in administration or our retreat center, we work together too!
If you are drawn both to outside ministry and contemplation, and if you are drawn to monastic life in community, please contact us.
