Guess who's invited for dinner! YOU ARE!
|
Did you get your invitation to Day's 1st Annual Progressive Dinner (aka Day @ Night) on Saturday, March 6th?! It should have arrived in the mail last week, but you can always get the invitation online here.
The dinner will be on Saturday, March 6th (snow date Sunday, March 7th) with everyone gathering together at the New Art Center at 6:30pm for mixing and mingling -- and to get maps to their hosts' houses. Dinner is at 8 and then we'll meet back at the New Art Center for dessert and coffee.
If you have questions, please contact Phyllis, Archana, or Susan.
Do you have some time to help us with the event? As the mailing crew found out, it was a lot of fun -- and quick work -- to do that task together. We'd be happy to include you in the next round! Just drop us a line.

A note to parents of cast & crew of Sound of Music
|
Ms. McGettrick is at home with her baby, but she's asked for some help rounding up parent volunteers for the production.
If your child is in performing in or crew for Sound of Music, could you please take a moment to respond to this volunteer form?! Ms. McG will be eternally grateful -- and the cast and crew will too!
If you're curious about what it takes to put on a show, check out Ms. McGettrick's web page (just click on the chair to read her blog).

FY11 Budget and School Committee News
|
On December 14, 2009 the School Committee voted to approve the FY10 Budget Guidelines. A
preliminary budget discussion is scheduled for February 22, 2010 during
the regular School Committee meeting.
The Superintendent will present the FY11 Budget on March 1, 2010 at 7:00 PM at Day. The budget will be deliberated
during the month of March.
The complete
schedule of meetings and budget guidelines are available at the Newton Public School website. The school committee meeting schedule can be
obtained online from their website.
Another item that will be presented to the School Committee on February 22nd is the findings of a consulting company (Edvocate) which was hired this fall to evaluate our food service costs and operations.
After the presentation and evaluation of findings, the NPS school
administration will recommend and work with the School Committee
on next steps with regard to food service.
FYI -- there is a summary of the most recent School Committee meeting posted on the Newton North PTSO website that you may find interesting reading.
