Day @ Night Volunteers Needed |
Would you like to help out with the Progressive Dinner but don't want to be a host? Volunteers are needed to help out with smaller jobs such as putting mailing labels on invitations. The Planning Committee can use your help even if you only have an hour to spare.

Green Day on February 4th |
Come and learn about Day Middle School's carbon footprint, how sustainable agriculture works and how much oil is in a bottle of water!
On Thursday, February 4th, Day Middle School will be presenting its first Green Day. There will be exhibits in the library, speakers in the classrooms and maybe even games in the gym all designed to help us better understand our relationship to and impact on the earth.
We are in need of volunteers to help set up, staff exhibits and clean up. If you are able to help out please contact Ramona Hamblin . |

Faculty Foul-Ups |
|
Faculty Foul-Ups is scheduled for the afternoon of Friday, February 5th. For those of you new to the school, Faculty Foul-Ups is a Day School tradition in the form of a basketball shooting competition between members of the Day faculty. Students and staff submit guesses (for a small fee) as to how many baskets certain teachers will make, who will make the most, etc. Students with correct guesses get small prizes. Winning teachers also get prizes.
The Faculty Foul-Ups committee is in need of some parents who can spare a bit of lunch time any day between Monday, Feb. 1st to Friday, Feb. 5th to help sell "guesses" If you can help out please contact Lisa Conti. |

Night of Comedy to Benefit Trevor Martinez-Tobin |

Legends Hall of Fame Grill 249 Lexington Street, Waltham Many of you know Trevor who is on the Azure team in 6th grade at Day. But you may not know that Judy Tobin, Trevor's legal Guardian and Grandmother, is currently in the hospital with a long and arduous recovery ahead of her. This fundraiser is to benefit Trevor, as he will require help to secure his hopes of staying at Day Middle school for the remainder of the year, along with other necessities in order to ease his time of transition. Please join your neighbors and friends for a hilarious night of stand-up comedy with two nationally-recongnized comediannes. Be prepared to laugh - they are funny, smart and ready to entertain you! Day @ Night Progressive Dinner |
Day's 1st Annual Progressive Dinner (aka Day @ Night) is coming up in early March -- and we need hosts! Do you enjoy cooking and entertaining people in your home? If so, then please consider signing up to be a host household for the Progressive Dinner. You get to choose your own menu and you can have a co-host to help you out if you'd like. The Progressive Dinner will be on Saturday, March 6th (snow date Sunday, March 7th). If you're interested in hosting a dinner or need more information please contact the PTO co-presidents at copresidents@daypto.org.

Paying for Your Child's College Education: What Middle School Parents Can Do Now |
Monday, March 15th, 7:00 to 9:00pm, Day Middle School library (Snow date, March 22nd)
Neil Blicher, CFP®, financial planner from Baystate Financial Services, and Larry Dannenberg, founder, College Solutions, will give you a lay of the land towards financing a college education and tips about what you can do now to be better prepared. Come with questions or better yet, send your questions now to Allison Hausman and she'll make sure to pass them on so your concerns will be addressed.
