| Dear Day families, |
Here's hoping that you and your families had a good winter break -- and that the kids and you made it through the first day back!
Many thanks to the kind parents and families who helped us serve a continental breakfast to Day's 150 teachers and staff before the holidays -- we WOWED 'em! Thank YOU.
And -- a very big tip of the hat to the many families who contributed to the Thank A Teacher fund. Your generous donations will go towards improving the school's library resources.
Thanks to Randy Meyer, the school librarian, there's a new feature on the Day web page called Day Life. It's a photo showcase of special events and student work from around the building. Mr. Meyer also kindly updated the calendar that appears on the Day and the PTO web sites with even more school-related events. Take a look at the newly synched calendars on the school site or PTO site.

Day @ Night Progressive Dinner |
Day's 1st Annual Progressive Dinner (aka Day @ Night) is coming up in early March -- and we need hosts! Do you enjoy cooking and entertaining people in your home? If so, then please consider signing up to be a host household for the Progressive Dinner. You get to choose your own menu and you can have a co-host to help you out if you'd like. The Progressive Dinner will be on Saturday, March 6th (snow date Sunday, March 7th). If you're interested in hosting a dinner or need more information please contact the PTO co-presidents at copresidents@daypto.org. More information on signing up to attend the Progressive Dinner will be coming out very soon. |

Green Day on February 4th |
Come and learn about Day Middle School's carbon footprint, how sustainable agriculture works and how much oil is in a bottle of water!
On Thursday, February 4th, Day Middle School will be presenting its first Green Day. There will be exhibits in the library, speakers in the classrooms and maybe even games in the gym all designed to help us better understand our relationship to and impact on the earth.
We are in need of volunteers to help set up, staff exhibits and clean up. If you are able to help out please contact Ramona Hamblin . |
Warmly,
Archana, Phyllis, & Susan Day PTO Co-presidents
