Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher Conferences started this week.  Please remember that conferences are scheduled in 10 minute time slots.    In an effort to keep everyone on schedule , please make sure you allow enough to time to get to the school and be at the appropriate classroom at your scheduled time.      Also, parents do not need to check in at the main office before proceeding to classrooms.

"Thank A Teacher" Holiday Drive

Our annual "Thank A Teacher" Holiday Book Drive is currently underway.    A thoughtful way to thank your child's teacher(s)(or assistants, specialists and/or staff members) for all they do and so much easier than battling the crowds in stores!

Each recipient being honored will receive a personalized holiday card informing them of your gift.  (No dollar amount will be specified.)  Funds from this drive will go towards library purchases and teacher grants.

Gifts can be made in any amount that you feel comfortable giving.

To "Thank A Teacher" send an email to holidaydrive@daypto.org with Day Holiday Drive in the subject line.     Indicate in your email which teacher(s) you'd like to thank.   Online donations are made via PayPal.  If you'd prefer you can mail your request and donation to the school office, attention: PTO Treasuer.    Checks should be made payable to Day Middle School PTO.  For more information, as well as a link to the donation form, visit the Day PTO website, www.daypto.org .

 Extra Directories for Sale

If you did not order a directory but would now like one there are extra copies available for sale in the main office or via one of the PTO co-presidents.  $10 per copy.   If you should have received one (pre-ordered or 6th grade/new family) and did not, please contact one of the PTO co-presidents (copresidents@daypto.org) and we'll get a copy to you.

For those who did get a directory, please take a moment to check your listing information and make sure it is correct.   The Directory Committee worked long and hard proofreading the listings but there's always a chance that an error slipped through.  If you do find an error please let us know so it can be corrected in the main database.

Save The Date!!

The PTO's annual fundraiser, "Day @ Night" will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010.  This year's event will be a progressive dinner and promises to be a wonderful night out.   A great way to socialize with other Day parents and help raise money for the school at the same time.    Details will be sent out in January.

Mark your calendars!   We hope to see you then.
