| Dear Day families -- |
| Many thanks to everyone who came to school on a rather rainy Saturday morning to participate in the 2nd Annual DayServes. The rain meant we couldn't do any raking, but we made up for it in painting the Music Room and the classrooms of Ms. Dugan, Ms. Rossier, and Mr. Felhner. Thanks to Jeff Zabel and Eli Dan for organizing -- and the very patient and kind Eric Raymond, Head Custodian, for his thoughtful advice and supplies.
We're very grateful to all the painters and helpers: Ms. Dugan, Ms. Whitaker, Ms. Rossier, Mr. Felhner, Ms. Healy, Kate Martenis, Leah Metzger, Ellen Metzger, Jesse Metzger, Carl Metzger, Will Attisano, Nancy Solari, Eleanor Ambrosio, Caitlin Howley, Shannon Riley, Benita Danzing, Roz Aronow, Sophie Aronow, Laura Seichert, Micaela Cohen, Isabela Fernandez, Jenn Duffy, Paul Labovitch, Alexander Wei, and Yi Wei. We couldn't have done it without you!

What do a canned food drive, yearbooks, and the Sound of Music have in common? |
|
They were all mentioned in this morning's W.O.R.D announcements -- here's the full text for those announcements:
-
The Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive organized by Mr. Solomon is starting up to benefit the Bristol Lodge in Waltham. Collections will run until the end of the day on Tuesday November 24. Non-perishables can be brought to the designated teacher for each team. The team with the most cans will win a pizza party.
-
2009-2010 yearbooks are now on sale. Order yours before Dec. 22 and save money! Order forms are available in room 317, the library, the office, and in the recent edition of the Daytime.
-
W.O.R.D.'s Fact of the Day: On this day in 1959, 50 years ago today, the musical The Sound of Music opened on Broadway. By the way, The Sound of Music will also be performed here at Day as the 7th and 8th grade musical, opening March 25th, 2010. Audition materials and sign-ups will be available either later this week or next Monday.
